Adam Levine revealed that he needs to come back to prove his innocence, stating that it was all a publicity stunt demanded by The Voice organizers!

It’s official: Adam Levine, who was an original coach for 16 seasons, is set to return to The Voice after leaving the singing show in 2019.

Read on to learn about Levine’s anticipated comeback and who will join him on the Season 27 coaching panel next spring.

The Voice is NBC’s hit singing competition that premiered in 2011 with original coaches Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Christina Aguilera and CeeLo Green.

Contestants begin with blind auditions and perform while the coaches’ chairs are turned away.

If a coach wants a singer on their team, they press a button to turn their chair around.

The show then progresses through battles, knockout rounds, live performances and crowns a winner in the season finale.

The most recent winner of The Voice was Season 24’s Asher HaVon from Coach Reba McEntire’s team, marking her first win as a coach. Following the finale, NBC revealed that coaches John Legend, Chance the Rapper and Dan + Shay would be stepping down after Season 25.

Instead, newcomers Michael Bublé and Snoop Dogg would join returning coaches Reba McEntire and Gwen Stefani on the panel for Season 26, set to premiere in the fall of 2024.

But The Voice stays ahead of the game — and NBC has already unveiled its coaching lineup for Season 27 in 2025, which features the return of an original coach and a beloved country star familiar with the show.

Is Adam Levine Returning To The Voice?

Yes, Adam Levine is officially returning to The Voice. NBC announced on June 5, 2024, that the Maroon 5 frontman will be back for Season 27 in the spring of 2025. Levine was an original coach on the show for its first 16 seasons.

Levine won The Voice three times, including in Season 1 with Javier Colon, Season 5 with Tessanne Chin, and Season 9 with Jordan Smith. He’s the third most successful coach in the competition’s history, behind Blake Shelton, who has nine wins.

To celebrate the exciting news, Levine shared a video on Instagram featuring comments from fans over the years asking for Adam to return, including one from fellow O.G. coach Blake Shelton, who wrote, “BRING ADAM BACK!!!”

“Yeah, we’re back,” Levine says in the video. “We’re coming back. I’m coming back, is what I mean. Season 27. Yes, I’m coming back. I’m so excited. I cannot wait.”

“I’m well rested. I’m ready to go. I’m a little nervous. I’m not nervous,” he joked. “But I’m so excited and it’s going to be great and I can’t wait. It’s going to be awesome. Let’s go!”

Levine added, “Team Adam is back. I feel bad for the other teams.”

Why Did Adam Levine Leave The Voice?

Adam Levine left The Voice in 2019 to spend more time with his family. “I was ready to not be doing it anymore … for a little bit,” the singer revealed in an interview with Howard Stern at the time. “When it all naturally happened, I was like, ‘Okay, this feels right.’ For better or worse, the moment in which we decided to walk away felt really good. This was the right time for me to go.”

Levine continued, “For eight-and-a-half years, I was so busy — [I] had the band, [I] had The Voice. I was beyond fortunate to go through all of it because it was a life-altering experience being on that show … and then it got to the point where I got married, I had two kids, and I wanted to spend time with them.”

The Maroon 5 singer shared a similar reason on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in 2019, explaining that he felt “fortunate” and “blessed” that he could “stop in this moment to spend time with my new, young family and have the greatest time ever,” he said. “Now I’m just a stay-at-home dad. I stay home and do very little.” Levine shares three children with his wife Behati Prinsloo.

Who Are The Voice Season 27 Coaches?

The Season 27 coaching lineup will include John Legend, Michael Bublé, Kelsea Ballerini, and Adam Levine.

Ballerini, a four-time Grammy nominee, will make her debut as a coach on Season 27 of The Voice, but she’s no stranger to the competition. Previously, she served as an advisor for Team Kelly during Season 16 and stepped in as a Guest Coach for Clarkson during the Battles. Prior to that, Ballerini acted as a coach on the spin-off web series “Comeback Stage,” working with six contestants who auditioned during the Blinds but weren’t initially selected.

Meanwhile, Season 27 will see the return of coaches John Legend, who is taking a break the season prior, and Michael Bublé, who was recently revealed as one of the new coaches for Season 26.
