SHOCK: David Beckham was spotted negotiating a sensational deal with MU aimed at ensuring Messi couldn’t escape Beckham’s grasp (video)

David Beckham is keen on bringing Manchester United’s Raphael Varane to his Inter Miami squad.

Varane, 31, who left Old Trafford after his contract ended this season, has been approached about joining Lionel Messi,

Luis Suarez, Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba at Chase Stadium next season.

The Frenchman cost United a whopping $108m in transfer fees and wages during his three injury-plagued seasons in Manchester,

where he made only 68 Premier League appearances.

However, Miami owner Beckham is prepared to offer Varane one last lucrative deal in the MLS to further elevate the profile of his Florida-based club.

Currently, Miami is leading the MLS table after 20 games as they head into the final four months of the season.

The transfer window opens from July 18 to August 14, but Varane can sign a contract now as he’s a free agent.

Despite his fitness issues, Varane was a well-liked figure at United and contributed to the Reds’ victory over rivals Manchester City in the FA Cup Final in his last appearance, reports the Mirror.

Varane also shared a heartfelt message with United fans announcing his departure ahead of that final, which Erik ten Hag’s side won 2-1 thanks to goals from young players Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo.

“It’s been an amazing few years to play for this special club and wearing that shirt,” Varane reflected on his time at Manchester United. “The first time I went to Old Trafford as a Manchester United player was insane, the atmosphere was amazing.”

“When the fans go to Wembley it’s something they remember for life. To share that moment with them [winning the Carabao Cup] was absolutely amazing. Despite the fact we had a difficult season, I’m very positive for the future.”

“The new owners are coming with a clear plan and a great strategy. I’ll see you at Old Trafford to say goodbye for the last game at home this season [against Newcastle ] and it’s going to be a very emotional day for me, for sure.”

After a decade of triumphs at Real Madrid, which included three La Liga titles, four Champions League trophies, three Spanish Super Cups, and a Copa Del Rey, Varane made the switch to United, leaving a lasting legacy at the Spanish club.
