There’s one scene with the elder Granger’s in the books, and one in the movies. They’re just different scenes.

The one in the books occurred at the start of Chamber of Secrets, Hermione in the books went to Diagon Alley with her parents

And they shopped as a group, so Mr Weasley got to talk to real muggles

And it was mentioned in a slightly roundabout way when Harry and Arthur had their confrontation with Draco and Lucius in Flourish and Blotts, as well.

This part, the inclusion of the Granger’s, was cut from the movie, though the rest of that part of the story remained more or less the same as in the books.

I’m not sure why they cut the Granger’s from those scenes, though.

The scene with the Granger’s in the movies occurrs in Deathly Hallows Part 1, and it’s the scene where Hermione Obliviates her parents. This scene doesn’t exist in the books. The event happened in the books, as well, but the books are almost entirely from Harry’s POV, it rarely switches to someone else, and the only time it switched to Hermione was in Philosopher’s Stone when Hermione set Snape on fire. In the books, Hermione’s choice to Obliviate her parents is only ever talked about, never shown, because we don;t get Hermione’s POV and Harry wasn’t there for it, nor was anyone else for that matter. So, this scene, though based on what happened in the books, is completely made up for the movie.

But, those are the only scenes we ever had with the elder Granger’s, their brief trip to Diagon in CoS where they barely spoke and did nothing interesting, in the books, and the Obliviation scene where they didn’t say or do anything at all in the movies. Yes, they cut a scene with the Granger’s, but they added one, too, so they weren’t completely cut out. And the Granger’s had just as much impact in the movies as they did in the books, because they were never actually characters.

Another interesting difference between the books and movies in the Harry Potter series is the treatment of the character of Peeves. Peeves, the mischievous poltergeist who creates chaos at Hogwarts, is a beloved character in the books but was completely left out of the movies. Fans of the books were disappointed not to see Peeves wreaking havoc on the big screen, as he added a lot of fun and excitement to the story.

It’s always fascinating to see how book-to-movie adaptations handle certain characters and scenes. Some elements are faithfully recreated, while others are altered or left out entirely. Each medium has its own limitations and strengths, which can impact the way the story is told.

Overall, the Harry Potter series is a masterful example of storytelling in both books and movies. The different portrayals of characters and scenes provide fans with new perspectives and interpretations of the magical world created by J.K. Rowling.
