It’s difficult to remember her fresh out of Harry Potter with long hair and a youthful glow – because while she still has the glow, she’s transformed into a style icon

When it comes to celebrity transformations, Emma Watson’s is high on our list of most sensational.

The Harry Potter actress has transformed into a stylish princess – and she just seems to get more glamorous by the day.

Emma, 23, showed us a whole new side AGAIN on Wednesday night at the premiere for her new film Noah, stealing the show in a backless Gothic-style dress.

Looking elegant beyond her years, it was possibly as far away as you could get from the young actress we saw all those years ago.

The first we really saw of the star’s keen interest in fashion was in 2009 when she made her modelling debut for Burberry.

That was all the trigger she needed to soar up in the industry, and she went on to announce her involvement with Fair Trade fashion brand People Tree – where she worked as a creative advisor.

Keen to leave her childhood character behind, she then cut her hair a year later into a pixie crop almost immediately after filming her last Harry Potter scene.

While fans speculated over whether she was doing it as a fashion statement, Emma later insisted it was because the films’ producers wouldn’t let her cut her hair until it had finished.

How very strict – but then we suppose we DO understand why.

The stunner told Metro shorty after: “I didn’t get to experiment with dyeing and chopping off my hair like most teenagers.”

She added: “I also felt, right, I’m 20, I’m not a little girl any more. I’d been on Harry Potter for ten years so I needed to mark the end of it in some way. I needed a drastic change and that’s what the crop was all about.”

We might have missed her signature locks – but in one swift motion, Emma managed to leave the little girl image behind.

And, while we had seen her looking glamorous at events throughout her time in the films, the new hair seemed to warrant a whole new wardrobe for the actress.

We started to see the actress wear daring designer gowns and she also appeared in Burberry’s 2010 Spring/Summer campaign – firmly rooting her name in the modelling world.

Emma slowly started to experiment with more risqué outfits, and in May last year we saw her take sexy to a whole new level in a revealing black gown at Costume Institute Gala .

As her hair started to grow out, we expected to see a hint of the younger actress again, but teeming with elegant outfits and glamorous accessories for almost every red carpet we have seen her on – there was no hint left.

The star showed us an edgy side last September at the GQ Men of the Year awards in a cream crop top and high-waisted trousers.

Pinning her growing hair back, the toned model proved she really can pull any look off.

That class we have come to love has stayed with Emma right through to this year, and we rarely see her in the plunging gowns and skintight tops a lot of other celebrity women opt for.

Instead, the star has shown off some of the most stunning ball gowns we have seen, and they keep coming thick and fast as she attends Noah film premieres all over the world.

What we wouldn’t give for a glimpse at her bursting wardrobe.
