As Anne put it to Vogue, “We hit it off immediately, but it took us a pretty long time to get together. He thought that I had a boyfriend, and I thought that he had a girlfriend, so I thought that I’d better keep my distance because I didn’t want to be that girl.”

Anne opens up to Harper’s Bazaar U.K. about her relationship (via People) and confirms she and Adam experienced love at first sight. “I knew from the second I met him that he was the love of my life. I also knew that I couldn’t have met him at a worse time. I took my trust out for a ridiculous joyride with him. It was scary. But as the days wore on, it kept getting better and better. I found that the love I found for him made me more trusting of everyone, and the more I started to see who I had become.
“He walks into a room, and I light up. I can’t help it,” she adds. “A few days into [filming Les Misérables], I said, ‘I’m having too much fun, I just want to play with you and I need to be really sad right now.’”

Anne reveals she had a miscarriage in 2015 while performing the one-woman show Grounded. “The first time it didn’t work out for me. I was doing a play and I had to give birth onstage every night,” she told Vanity Fair, adding that she confided in friends.
“It was too much to keep it in when I was onstage pretending everything was fine. I had to keep it real otherwise…. So when it did go well for me, having been on the other side of it —where you have to have the grace to be happy for someone — I wanted to let my sisters know, ‘You don’t have to always be graceful. I see you and I’ve been you.’ It’s really hard to want something so much and to wonder if you’re doing something wrong.”
That brings us up to date, but love this relationship and love that Anne was so open about her fertility journey. We’ll update this timeline as things progress!
