During a visit to a children’s hospital in Los Angeles, Meghan wore a £2,776 (VND87 million) dress.
The spring-inspired floral dress may seem like a seasonal choice, but many believe there’s more to the look than meets the eye.
“The British royal family is known for using clothes to convey subtle messages,” fashion editor Amber Graafland told Fabulous.
“And Meghan has learned how to use her clothes to change the way she looks. The Duchess clearly sent a message with her floral outfit.”
In addition to the expensive dress, the Duchess of Sussex also wore £595 (VND19 million) Aquazzura ankle-strap shoes.
So what was Meghan’s message?
According to Graafland, Meghan wasn’t just trying to brighten the day of the children at the hospital with the flowers on her outfit.
“Along with purity, optimism and friendship, flowers also symbolize growth and blossoming,” she says. “And on a deeper level, flowers also symbolize forgiveness. Could Meghan be extending an olive branch to her sister-in-law Kate?
As the Duchess begins a new chapter in her life, it seems like she is looking to forget the events of the past and write a fresh, pleasant script. There is no doubt that Meghan is looking to forget the events of the past years.”
Meghan recently launched a new brand project on Instagram called American Riviera Orchard.
“It is no wonder that the Duchess is looking to reposition herself ahead of the launch of her brand,” Graafland explains.
“The Duchess has reportedly hired celebrity Hollywood stylist Jamie Mizrahi to help adapt her wardrobe to the new project. Jamie has encouraged Meghan to ditch dark colours and heavy fabrics in favour of lighter colours and more feminine fabrics. A professional stylist will look at the bigger picture, consider the client’s goals and choose outfits that suit their career aspirations.”
