Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton just celebrated their third anniversary on July 3, and they couldn’t be happier.
After a few hiccups at the end of last year in their marriage, the couple has reportedly found solid ground after reconnecting with the reasons why they bonded in the first place.
In 2015, they jumped right into a relationship after realizing they were at similar points in their lives.
He was on the heels of a divorce from Miranda Lambert after four years of marriage, and she was exiting her almost 13-year union with Gavin Rossdale.
Describing them as “the quintessential opposites-attract type of couple,” an Us Weekly source shared that “Gwen and Blake both went through dark divorces.”
When Stefani joined The Voice in 2014, sparks flew, and even though “it was a hard time for them,” the dynamic duo learned that “their connection was the light at the end of the tunnel.”
In 2022, Shelton divulged on The Good Dish that having “each other at a very low point in each other’s lives” was the saving grace he needed at that time in his life. “I think she kept me from going to the absolute bottom,” he explained. “It was like literally falling off a cliff and a hand reached out and caught me, is what it feels like.” Stefani praised her husband in September 2023 for being a game-changer in her life. “When I met Blake, that’s when I felt home, like, ‘Oh, this is where I’m supposed to be, with this guy,” she told People. “It was true and so automatic and such an amazing gift to be able to experience love like that for the first time it was like ‘Ugh this is it!’”
Late last fall, fans grew concerned when Stefani and Shelton’s schedules kept them apart over the New Year’s holiday, and they didn’t seem to be on the same page in their marriage. However, after releasing their sweet duet together, “Purple Irises,” the “Hollaback Girl” singer pushed back on the rumors. “When you’re in love and have truly aligned values, nobody can get to us. You can say whatever you want to say about our relationship—I mean, a week ago we were getting divorced again or something,” she explained to Nylon in April. “It’s just lies. The truth is the truth, and we know what that is…”
Stefani and Shelton are in this life together — and sure, there will be bumps in the road — but as a second Us Weekly source summed up, “Gwen and Blake are doing amazing.”
