David Beckham’s mother Sandra has been likened by fans to Princess Diana after her son shared a series of throwback photos.

The former footballer, 47, posted the old family snaps to Instagram to celebrate her 74th birthday.

Captioning the carousel of images, the father-of-four wrote: “Happy birthday to the most amazing mum.”

Referencing his younger sister Joanne, he added: “Have a great day being spoiled by Jo’s bacon sandwiches and a cup of tea.”

The pictures – which have received more than 142,000 ‘likes’ – show the ex-sportsman as a child with his siblings, who also include older sister Lynne.

They also featured their mother sporting a hairstyle strikingly similar to the late Princess of Wales.

Noting her likeness to the royal, one social media user wrote: “Princess Diana vibes photo three.”

Another agreed: “Second and third photo she looks like Lady Di!!!”

It comes after Tatler magazine stirred up debate among fans of Beckham’s wife Victoria after they crowned a new “Mrs Beckham”.

The magazine shot their daughter-in-law Nicola Peltz Beckham for their latest issue, and gave her the moniker that famously belonged to the Spice Girl.

After son Brooklyn shared the cover on his Instagram, one person wrote: “Beautiful but Victoria is real Beckham.”

Another shared: “I’m screaming. Your mama won’t like that.”
