Love Island in shock drug scandal as it’s revealed Stacey Solomon’s ex ‘internally’ smuggled in narcotics and shared with co-stars after making a bong out of an apple

Steve-O, the iconic American stunt performer known for his outrageous antics on the MTV show *Jackass*, has found himself at the center of a new controversy,

with accusations of smuggling drugs onto the set of *Love Island* in 2006.

The allegations, which resurfaced nearly two decades later, suggest that Steve-O was involved in an illicit drug incident during his brief appearance on the celebrity edition of the show.

In 2006, Steve-O participated in the celebrity version of *Love Island*, which was filmed in Fiji.

However, his stay on the show was notably short-lived.

He left after just two days, and at the time, it was reported that he had quit following a disagreement with his fellow contestants and the show’s producers.

But new revelations from Paul Danan, a fellow contestant on the show, suggest that Steve-O’s departure was not entirely voluntary.

Paul Danan, who tragically passed away at the age of 46 earlier this month, opened up about the incident in his final interview on the *Outlet Ten Discussions Podcast*. Reflecting on his time on *Love Island*, Paul revealed that Steve-O allegedly smuggled drugs onto the island by swallowing them and later “s***ting them out.” According to Paul, the producers did not search the contestants thoroughly, but Steve-O’s actions were an unexpected exception.

Paul continued, describing how Steve-O, in a state of apparent defiance, fashioned a makeshift bong using an apple. He recalled the two of them smoking together when they were summoned to the Beach Hut. Paul described the moment when producers confronted Steve-O, stating that his actions were a clear violation of the show’s rules. The *Jackass* star was subsequently removed from the show for his behavior, as producers could not overlook the situation.

At the time of his departure, ITV, the network behind *Love Island*, issued a statement claiming that Steve-O had become “very emotional” and was upsetting some of his fellow celebrities. ITV further added that the decision for him to leave was made after discussions with Steve-O, thanking him for his contribution to the show. However, no mention of drug-related behavior was made in the official statement, and the situation was left vague.

In the wake of the new revelations, ITV has declined to comment further, and MailOnline has reached out to Steve-O’s representatives for clarification. As of now, Steve-O has not responded publicly to the accusations.

Steve-O, whose real name is Stephen Glover, rose to fame in the early 2000s through *Jackass*, a show that featured over-the-top, often dangerous stunts performed by a group of comedians, including Johnny Knoxville, Bam Margera, and Ryan Dunn. His wild and reckless antics quickly made him a household name. However, his rise to fame was marred by personal struggles with substance abuse, including drugs and alcohol.

During the height of his fame, Steve-O’s out-of-control behavior led to multiple arrests, evictions, and eventually a stay in a psychiatric ward. In a 2023 interview on the *What’s Underneath: Masculinity* podcast, Steve-O opened up about hitting rock bottom in 2006, around the time of his *Jackass* success. He admitted that the wild, dangerous lifestyle associated with the show was taking a severe toll on him, and he felt as though he was spiraling out of control.

His struggles came to a head in 2008 when he was arrested for felony cocaine possession, which he pled guilty to. Soon after, he sent a disturbing email to friends and family, confessing that he was “ready to die.” This prompted an intervention from his *Jackass* colleagues, who helped him seek professional help. He was placed under a 72-hour psychiatric hold, which marked the beginning of his journey toward sobriety. Since then, Steve-O has maintained a clean and sober lifestyle, although he has continued to battle with sex addiction, which he discussed publicly in various interviews.

Though his time on *Love Island* was short, it seems that Steve-O’s presence on the show left an indelible mark. The new accusations, whether true or not, paint a darker picture of his time on the island, adding another layer to the public persona of a man whose life has been defined by extremes. The situation serves as a reminder of the high stakes involved in reality television, where the line between personal behavior and public entertainment can often blur.
