Gregg Wallace, the longtime host of MasterChef, is under investigation following a series of allegations regarding inappropriate behaviour. 

The probe has been initiated by the production company Banijay UK after multiple women came forward with claims of misconduct spanning over 17 years. 

The investigation includes allegations of sexual harassment, inappropriate jokes, and other forms of misconduct during filming, 

leading Wallace to step back from his role on the BBC One cooking show.

A high-profile law firm, Lewis Silkin, has been hired to oversee the investigation. 

They are interviewing women who have made complaints about Wallace, with a focus on those who have raised concerns directly with the BBC or the production team. 

Wallace’s representatives have strongly denied the accusations, stating that the allegations of sexual harassment are “entirely false.” However, as part of the investigation, a detailed examination of the complaints, along with relevant archive footage and documents, is underway to determine the veracity of the claims.

Wark alleged that Wallace’s remarks were “in the wrong place” and were made in front of a crew and other contestants.
