Jamie Borthwick has finally spoken out about the swirling romance rumors involving Strictly Come Dancing co-star Tasha Ghouri. 

The EastEnders actor, who was a contestant on the show last year, has been linked to the former Love Island star after they were spotted together at a hotel. 

However, Jamie is putting the speculation to rest, insisting that their relationship is purely platonic.

Following reports that he and Tasha had grown close, Jamie, 29, addressed the claims in an interview with MailOnline. 

Rather than fueling the rumors, he found them amusing and dismissed any romantic connection.

“Tasha? I laugh,” Jamie said when asked about the speculation. “Tasha is my sister. We laugh, honestly. It provides such comedy.”

When pressed further about whether she was firmly in the “sibling zone,” Jamie didn’t hesitate to confirm: “Absolutely.”

His comments come after he and Tasha, 26, were seen arriving back at their Birmingham hotel together after having dinner, fueling speculation about a possible romance.

Tasha’s Recent Breakup Adds to the Buzz

The rumors linking Jamie and Tasha emerged shortly after her split from Andrew Le Page, whom she met on Love Island in 2022. The couple had been together for over two years before deciding to part ways in January. “We finished not even 24 hours ago—our last show was at the O2. We had five nights, and it was brilliant. The whole tour was amazing,” Jamie shared.

“Accepting that all good things must come to an end. I’ve been lucky. The end of 2023, all of 2024, and the start of 2025 was all about Strictly for me. I’ve had a good run, but now it’s time to pack it in.”

When asked if he would ever return to the show, Jamie was firm in his response: “I wouldn’t do it again if I was asked.”

Tasha’s Strictly Experience and Relationship Struggles

Tasha has also spoken about how Strictly changed her, describing the experience as transformative.

“I feel like I went into Strictly as a girl and came out a fierce woman,” she previously told The Sun.

However, her time on the show may have taken a toll on her relationship with Andrew. Before their split, she revealed that her obsession with watching back her dances had begun to frustrate him.

“Andrew’s getting sick of it. He is literally like, ‘Tasha!’” she joked.

Although Andrew was seen supporting her at the Strictly live shows, signs of trouble in their relationship had been evident for months. Tasha had not posted a photo with him on Instagram since November, when they attended the UK premiere of Wicked together.
