A special fan wrote a thank-you letter to Reba McEntire because the song “I can’t” helped them find the destiny of their life

Oklahoma native Reba McEntire affirmed her reputation as the “Queen of Country” with a scorching performance of her new song “I Can’t” on Tuesday’s episode of “The Voice.”

Reba, who hails from Chockie, Oklahoma, opened the May 7 Top 12 Live Results Episode of Season 25 of NBC’s hit singing.

Competition with her own future hit: a fiery new country-rock kiss-off.

Dressed in a shimmering black pantsuit with golden fringe, Reba performed “I Can’t” with full-band backing on a backdrop of a dramatically stark desert.

Simulated rain and blazing pyrotechnics were involved.

Along with showcasing Reba performing her new song on “The Voice,” NBC announced Tuesday.

That it was giving a series order to the multitalented superstar’s new sitcom, “Happy’s Place.”

During a special visit in Oklahoma City last month, Reba teased her plans to release new music and her hopes to perform it on “The Voice,” where she is in her second season on the Emmy-winning show’s celebrity coaching panel.

“I’m taking a break (from) touring for 2024. We probably won’t do anything until the end of ’25. But I do have music coming out, and that hopefully will be aired on ‘The Voice.’ Then, we’re going to shoot a video for it,” she told The Oklahoman a few hours before accepting the Lifetime Achievement Award at the April 13 Western Heritage Awards in OKC.

The three-time Grammy Award winner announced Monday on social media that she would perform her new song “I Can’t” on Tuesday’s live episode of “The Voice.”

Fans can download or stream the new song at https://strm.to/ICant.

When the 59th Academy of Country Music Awards stream live May 16 from Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas, exclusively on Prime Video, Reba is slated to take the stage there for a special performance featuring her new music, too. The Country Music Hall of Famer is hosting the upcoming ACM Awards for the 17th time.

Reba had a better night Tuesday than her team on “The Voice.”

The Emmy-winning show’s Season 25 coaches — Reba, EGOT winner John Legend, three-time Grammy winner Chance the Rapper and three-time Grammy-winning country duo and coaching newcomers Dan + Shay — have been working since the show premiered its latest cycle in February to build a team of top performers and then narrow it this season’s final 12 contestants.

On Tuesday’s live episode, the field of Top 12 finalists was trimmed to the Top 9.

Team Reba’s L. Rodgers, Team Chance’s Nadège and Team Legend’s Zoe Levert were unable to secure spots in the Season 25 semifinals, despite their strong performances.

The Top 9 heading into the semifinals on “The Voice” Season 25:

Bryan Olesen, Team Legend

Tae Lewis, Team Dan + Shay

Maddi Jane, Team Chance

Madison Curbelo, Team Dan + Shay

Asher HaVon, Team Reba

Karen Waldrup, Team Dan + Shay

Serenity Arce, Team Chance

Josh Sanders, Team Reba

Nathan Chester, Team Legend

“The Voice” Season 25 live shows are underway, with the top artists competing against each other weekly during a live broadcast. It all culminates with the two-part Season 25 finale May 20-21, when the newest winner of “The Voice” will be revealed.

“The Voice” airs at 7 p.m. Mondays and 8 p.m. Tuesdays on NBC. Episodes stream the next day on Peacock on-demand. The streaming service offers full episodes from the show’s previous 24 seasons, too.

Fans can vote after the May 13 and May 20 episodes. The voting window is 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. after those episodes.
