England star Jude Bellingham enjoyed one of the most impressive debut seasons in the club’s history, helping Real Madrid to their 15th Champions League trophy.
Los Blancos beat German side Borussia Dortmund 2-0 at Wembley thanks to goals from Dani Carvajal and Vinicius Jr.
The No. 5 was not particularly impressive in the latter stages of the season or in last night’s final,
but he still had a clever interception from Ian Maatsen’s inexperienced cross and set up Vini Jr for the game-winning goal. He finished the club season with 23 goals and 13 assists in all competitions.
Bellingham also has individual titles such as the Kopa Trophy and Golden Boy, while he and his teammate Vinicius Jr are two strong candidates for the 2024 Ballon d’Or.
Former Real Madrid player David Beckham, while enjoying the sunshine in Miami, expressed his admiration for what his junior achieved last season.
Sharing on his personal Instagram page, the legendary number 7 of MU “posed” a similar pose to Bellingham’s trademark celebration and captioned: “HEY JUDE!! What a great first season. CHAMPIONS!”. Beckham also did not forget to tag the new Champions League champion Real Madrid next to the English midfielder’s Instagram account name.
During his time playing in Spain in the royal white shirt, David Beckham could not win the Champions League title despite being accompanied by many world football superstars such as Zinedine Zidane, Luis Figo, Ronaldo de Lima, Raul, Roberto Carlos… like when he played for MU with the elephant ear cup won in 1999. Beckham’s best achievement in Madrid was the La Liga title in the 2006/2007 season.
Bellingham has been following in Beckham’s footsteps to become one of the best English players to ever play for the “White Vultures”. The journey to conquer the title of No. 5 will continue when in less than half a month, EURO 2024 will start in Germany and Jude Bellingham and his teammates will shoulder the responsibility of bringing this great title to the Three Lions, something that Beckham and his contemporaries could not do.
