Former England footballer David Beckham has agreed to become a global ambassador for AliExpress,
the online retail platform owned by Chinese tech giant Alibaba and sponsor of the European Championships (EURO 2024).
The deal comes less than three weeks before the start of EURO 2024, and is Beckham’s latest endorsement after he signed endorsement deals
with fashion house Hugo Boss and kitchenware manufacturer SharkNinja in recent weeks.
The former England star is also a spokesperson for UNICEF and world-famous brands such as Tudor watches,
Tempur mattresses, Nespresso coffee machines and Walkers potato chips.
In 2022, Beckham made £200 million ($281 million) from selling a 55% stake in his brand management business to US-based Authentic Brands.
In addition, Beckham and his wife, Victoria Beckham, who owns their own fashion label and cosmetics business, have also earned millions of pounds through brand deals. Victoria Beckham, a former member of the once-popular Spice Girls, has joined Spanish luxury fashion brand Mango in recent months.
According to the recent Sunday Times Rich List, the Beckhams currently live in a £30 million ($42 million) house in West London. The former soccer star and his wife are worth an estimated £455 million ($637 million), up £30 million ($42 million) from last year.

Beckham was appointed as an ambassador for the 2022 FIFA World Cup two years ago, a job that reportedly earned him £10 million ($14 million).
AliExpress is emerging as a key driver of Alibaba Group’s e-commerce business. In the first quarter of 2024, AliExpress’ revenue grew 45% to more than $3.8 billion, driven largely by its Choice service, which offers high-quality products.
