Amy Schumer says ‘everybody’s a pervert’ after learning her SNL sketch is the most viewed online

Amy Schumer, known for her bold and unfiltered humor,

recently took a playful jab at her fans, calling them “perverts” for making her iconic *Saturday Night Live* (SNL) sketch, *Porn Teacher*, the most-watched video on the show’s YouTube channel.

The sketch, which aired in 2015, features Schumer playing a teacher in an adult film school, a role that has clearly left an indelible mark on viewers.

In a recent interview on *The Howard Stern Show*, Schumer was told that her skit had surpassed all other SNL videos,

including the ever-popular *More Cowbell* sketch, in terms of YouTube views.

Schumer’s reaction? She was both surprised and amused.

“Can you believe that? The most viewed SNL sketch of all time is me and Kyle Mooney, the ‘Porn Teacher’,” Schumer exclaimed. The sketch’s success was unexpected for Schumer, but as she admitted, it made perfect sense given the content.

So, what exactly made this particular sketch so popular? Schumer’s portrayal of a porn teacher in the sketch was undoubtedly a major draw. In the sketch, Schumer’s character is preparing to teach a class on how to act in adult films, a premise that’s as outrageous as it is hilarious. She teams up with Kyle Mooney, playing a student who’s clearly unprepared for the “hands-on” lesson his teacher is about to give him.

The humor takes off when Aidy Bryant’s character, a fellow student, constantly misinterprets the sexual innuendos Schumer’s character is making. Bryant’s literal interpretations of Schumer’s double entendres provide a fresh layer of comedy that keeps the audience in stitches. Schumer herself was clearly aware of the appeal, joking during the interview, “Of course, everybody’s a pervert.”

Fans of *SNL* are no strangers to outrageous and memorable sketches. However, there was something about the absurdity and the cheeky humor of this particular one that resonated with viewers. Schumer’s character was over-the-top and unabashedly provocative, and the interplay with her fellow cast members only added to the comedic chaos. As Schumer humorously pointed out, she was “shocked” by the skit’s popularity but also had to admit, “People really are perverts.”

In the sketch, Schumer’s character goes through a series of adult film-related lessons with her student, which escalates into hilarious territory when Bryant’s character continuously misunderstands the context. The combination of Schumer’s bold performance, Mooney’s cluelessness, and Bryant’s comedic timing created an unforgettable moment. The absurdity of the situation, paired with Schumer’s sharp delivery, undoubtedly made the skit a fan favorite.

Despite its overwhelming success, Schumer joked that she would love to bring the sketch back for the 50th anniversary of *SNL*. “I want to bring it back for the 50th,” Schumer said, envisioning her character reimagined as a realtor instead of a porn teacher. The idea of revisiting the character shows Schumer’s playful side and willingness to embrace the impact of her work. Yet, she also had a tongue-in-cheek response to the sketch’s success, remarking that the sketch was likely written by “some pervert” who thought nothing of it at the time—highlighting just how outrageous the idea was.

As far as views go, *Porn Teacher* has become a cultural touchstone, amassing an astounding 106 million views on YouTube. For comparison, the legendary *More Cowbell* sketch, which features Will Ferrell and Christopher Walken in an unforgettable musical moment, has garnered a mere 28 million views. Clearly, Schumer’s sketch has struck a chord with fans, far surpassing many of the show’s other iconic moments.

Despite its success, Schumer’s *Porn Teacher* character has not made a return to *SNL*, leaving fans to wonder about the fate of her student. Will he ever pass his “oral exam”? And, more importantly, will Schumer’s character ever be able to get his grades to “69”? Sadly, these questions remain unanswered, but one thing is certain: the sketch’s lasting impact on *SNL* fans is undeniable.

While Schumer’s brand of comedy has always been bold and unapologetic, this skit, with its mix of raunchy humor and slapstick absurdity, continues to be one of the most-watched and memorable moments in *SNL* history—thanks, in no small part, to the perverse curiosity of its audience.
