Following her selection in the WNBA Draft, Angel Reese might have sticker shock when she gets ready to sign her first deal in the league.

Reese is the first LSU player taken in the first round since 2012 and the seventh Tiger to be selected with a top-10 pick.

After Angel Reese was drafted by the Chicago Sky with the No. 7 pick in the 2024 WNBA draft, we now know what she will be making as far as her salary goes.

According to the WNBA CBA, Reese’s base salary will be $73,439 in her rookie season for the Chicago Sky. Her salary is projected to increase to $74,909 for 2025, per Spotrac. It is then expected to jump to $82,399 in 2026.

Now, Reese will share a frontcourt with Kamilla Cardoso, the former South Carolina center who formed a rivalry with the LSU star during the 2023-24 season. Both players will be playing for new head coach Teresa Weatherspoon, the Hall of Famer whom Kim Mulkey coached at Louisiana Tech.

Despite having one year of eligibility remaining, LSU women’s basketball star Angel Reese elected to declare for the WNBA draft and now she is headed to the Chicago Sky.

The 6-foot-3 forward got really deep when speaking on why she decided to forgo her final year of eligibility at LSU and make her way to the pros.

“I wanted more for myself,” Reese said. “I wanted to start over. I feel like I had been at a high since the national championship and I want to hit rock bottom. I want to be a rookie again. I want to be knocked down by vets and I want to be able to get up and grow and be a sponge. I’m just super excited to play with amazing players and against amazing players. This league is really competitive and I’m a competitive player so I want to play against the best players.”
