Angelina Jolie Reveals She Thought ‘Certain Parts’ Of Her Had ‘Shut Down’ Amid Settling Divorce With Brad Pitt

Angelina Jolie, a Hollywood icon and global humanitarian, has always been candid about her personal struggles.

In a recent interview, she opened up about the emotional toll of her divorce from Brad Pitt,

shedding light on the deeply personal battles she faced during one of the most tumultuous periods of her life.

Jolie revealed that she felt as though “certain parts” of herself had “shut down” while navigating the complexities of the legal proceedings and the emotional aftermath of her split.

Jolie’s divorce from Pitt, finalized in 2019 after years of legal wrangling, marked the end of one of Hollywood’s most high-profile relationships.

The pair, who were together for over a decade and married for two years, share six children.

While their separation was initially amicable, it soon became entangled in a protracted legal battle over custody and financial arrangements.

In her recent remarks, Jolie described how the stress and emotional strain of the divorce impacted her mental and physical well-being. “It was a period where I felt like parts of me had shut down,” she admitted. “It’s hard to explain, but when you go through something that challenging, it can feel like you’re losing pieces of yourself.”

Jolie’s candidness highlights the often-overlooked emotional toll of divorce, particularly when children are involved. She acknowledged that the process left her feeling disconnected from her own identity at times. As a mother, she prioritized the well-being of her children, often putting their needs ahead of her own.

“I had to stay strong for my kids, but there were moments when I felt like I wasn’t fully present with myself,” Jolie shared. “You get so focused on making sure everyone else is okay that you forget to check in with your own emotions.”

Despite these challenges, Jolie has consistently emphasized the importance of resilience and self-care. Over time, she found ways to reconnect with herself and regain a sense of balance. “Healing is not a straight path,” she said. “It takes time, and you have to be patient with yourself.”

One of the ways Jolie has reclaimed her sense of self is through her work. Whether it’s acting, directing, or her humanitarian efforts, Jolie has channeled her experiences into meaningful projects that reflect her values and passions.

“Work has always been a way for me to process emotions and find a sense of purpose,” she explained. “It’s a space where I can be creative and channel everything I’m feeling into something productive.”

Jolie also credited her children for helping her navigate the difficult times. She described them as her “source of strength” and expressed gratitude for their love and support. “My kids are incredible,” she said. “They’ve taught me so much about resilience and what it means to move forward with love.”

While Jolie has faced her share of challenges, she remains optimistic about the future. She sees her experiences not as setbacks but as opportunities for growth. “Every challenge teaches you something about yourself,” she said. “It’s through those moments of difficulty that you find out who you really are.”

Jolie’s journey is a testament to the power of resilience and the importance of emotional honesty. By sharing her struggles, she has not only allowed herself to heal but also offered inspiration to others who may be facing similar challenges.

Jolie’s reflections on her divorce serve as a powerful reminder that healing is a deeply personal journey. She has shown that it’s possible to rebuild even after experiencing profound emotional loss. Her openness about feeling “shut down” at times underscores the reality of coping with major life changes, but her ability to move forward demonstrates the strength that comes from perseverance.

As Jolie continues to focus on her career, family, and humanitarian efforts, she remains an example of how to navigate life’s challenges with grace and authenticity. Her message is clear: even in the face of adversity, it’s possible to rediscover yourself and embrace the next chapter with renewed strength and purpose.
