Anne Hathaway admits to almost killing her one-year-old son while going to the park, what happened?

The Oscar-winning actress, 34, recalled the hilarious incident during an interview with Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show last night.

Explaining how she’d taken her baby son to the park earlier that day, Anne said: “I noticed that all these other kids were coming down this slide,

and it looked like an unusual slide, like maybe it was built before they had child safety measures in place.

“I noticed the kids weren’t going that fast so I think, ‘OK, I’ll bring Johnny on the slide.'”

She then described the moment that she realised her potentially disastrous mistake, saying: “So we go down but what I hadn’t thought about was physics.

“You have a 35 pound child going down, it’s one speed. You have me and my son, it’s like… not 35 pounds,” she continued.

“So we just go around the corner and instead of slowing down like the other kids, we speed up! And as it speeds up, my thoughts slow down and I just look ahead and I get very serious and very focused and I think: ‘I must stick this landing.'”

The audience fell about in fits of laughter as the star remembered her determination to save her baby as she hurtled down the slide.

She went on to re-enact the hysterical moment she “stuck the landing” and saved the day, hitching up her floor-length black gown and squatting down in her towering Louboutin stilettos, leaving host Jimmy proclaiming: “10! 10 points,” for her heroic acrobatic feat.

“You know how it is when you just almost killed your child but didn’t,” she joked.

Anne and her actor husband, 36-year-old Adam Schulman, married in 2012 and had Johnny in spring last year.

She told The Tonight Show earlier in the evening how he is just starting to learn to walk and joked about how she had visited an antiques shop last month in her search for the perfect first birthday present.

“Babies love antiques,” Jimmy laughed, at which point Anne responded: “Oh my god, you know what goes great with babies? Dust.”
