Anne Hathaway and Meryl Streep had an awkward reunion after a tense argument

Gird your loins, because Thursday’s Albie Awards including one major fashionable reunion.

The Clooney Foundation for Justice’s second-annual event featured a venerable who’s who of celebrity faces, including former Devin Wear’s Prada costars Anne Hathaway

and Meryl Streep — who reunited 17 years after the beloved film’s release.

Both were smiling ear to ear as they posted together at the function, which the foundation states honors “brave individuals who, at great personal risk, have devoted their lives to justice.”

Neither were wearing cerulean. Instead, Hathaway, 40, wore a bright green, shimmery, strappy Versace floor-length dress with a silvered checkered pattern and floral appliqués across the front.

She accessorized the gown with silver bag, and wore her hair half up and half down. A diamond necklace, matching earrings and other silver jewelry added extra sparkle to her look.

Streep, 74, was equally radiant in a sparking black sweater adorned with gold embellishments. She paired with top black pants and dress shoes.

Photographers caught the two former costars as they embraced in a hug.

They weren’t the only Devil Wears Prada alums at the event, either. Emily Blunt, 40, who was also in attendance alongside with her husband, John Krasinski.

She wore a sleek red sleeveless Zuhair Murad dress with a scooped neckline and heart-shaped pockets on her hips. Krasinski kept it classic in a black tuxedo with a white shirt and black bowtie.

In the 2006 film — which is an adaptation of Lauren Weisberger’s 2003 novel by the same name — Hathaway played aspiring young journalist Andy Sachs, who lands a job as an assistant for Runway magazine editor Miranda Priestly (Streep).

Blunt played the role of Emily Charlton, Miranda’s first assistant.

The Devil Wears Prada was directed by David Frankel, and also starred Stanley Tucci, Adrian Grenier and Simon Baker. Apart from grossing $326 million worldwide, it also landed Streep an Oscar nomination.

Over the years since the film has came out, Hathaway and Streep have remained friendly, posing together at both the 2009 Vanity Fair Oscars Afterparty and on the 2014 Academy Awards red carpet.

In 2021, Frankel, 64, opened up about the role that Streep had in making sure Hathaway was cast in the film.

“Meryl was eager to make the movie, and she said, ‘Let me meet with her,'” said Frankel in an interview with Entertainment Weekly that included some of the cast. “Brokeback Mountain was about to come out. Annie had a wonderful, small role in that. And Meryl watched that scene from the movie, she met with her and called up Tom Rothman at Fox and said, ‘Yeah, this girl’s great, and I think we’ll work well together.'”

According to Frankel, prior to Hathaway getting the role, Rachel McAdams was offered the role three times. Scarlett Johansson, Natalie Portman, Kate Hudson, and Kirsten Dunst were in consideration.

Hathaway shared that once she found out that she got the part, “it was the easiest yes in the world.”

“I remember the moment I found out I got the part, I just ran screaming through my apartment,” she said. “I had a bunch of friends over at the time. I just jumped up in the living room and screamed, ‘I’m going to be in The Devil Wears Prada!’ “
