Anne Hathaway’s Atelier Versace gown was an absolute showstopper at the 2023 Met Gala!

While the construction of gold thread French tweed with degradé embroidered ton-sur-ton paillette and Swarovski crystal was a nod to Karl’s time at the House of Chanel. 

The Chanel Camellia flowers, which are practically synonymous to the French fashion house, adorned the bust and added another layer of reference to the Kaiser’s signature style. 

The dress featured a unique combination of embellishments, including pearls that were used throughout Karl Lagerfeld’s Chanel collections and Versace’s iconic Medusa Safety Pins. The attention to detail was evident in every aspect of the gown, from the intricate beading to the carefully placed pleats and folds. Even the pearl white color palette was a reference to bridal gowns from both Chanel and Versace, creating a look that was both classic and modern.

To complete her glamorous look, Anne further upped the ante with some of Bulgari’s most exquisite pieces. She chose iconic jewels from the maison, particularly the High Jewelry Monete necklace and bracelet in yellow gold set with a silver coin, which perfectly complemented the golden hues and timeless elegance of her custom Atelier Versace frock.
