And pregnant Anne Hathaway will surely be hoping that proves to be the case after she struggled to win attention from a friend’s baby in Los Angeles at the weekend.

The 33-year-old Dark Knight Rises favourite seemed despondent after her open-armed plea went ignored as the adorable youngster rested on her comrade’s shoulders .

Despite this Oscar-winner, who is expecting her first child in the Spring, seemed to relish her afternoon with friends during a soccer practice in trendy Santa Monica.

The Devil Wears Prada starlet dressed casual for the outing in cuffed denim jeans and a white sweater over her blossoming bump.

She draped an army green coat over the garb and wrapped a multi-coloured scarf around her neck to shield her from the brisk weather.

The brunette beauty accessorized her ensemble with olive green and brown trainers with a yellow Nike logo emblazoned along the side. 

Anne finished her look with oversized dark movie star shades and went make-up free, which highlighted her flawless complexion.

After her daytime outing, the Princess Diaries actress met up for coffee and lunch to go with her husband – who she married in 2012 – Adam Shulman, 34, in Venice Beach.

The beefcake jewellery designer kept warm in a navy blue button-up wool sweater and wore dark denim jeans.

The Les Misérables star proudly showed off her baby bump earlier this month to her more than two million Instagram followers in a flattering bikini shot at the beach.

‘So, posting a bikini pic is a little out of character for me, but just now while I was at the beach I noticed I was being photographed,’ she wrote of the snapshot.

‘I figure if this kind of photo is going to be out in the world it should at least be an image that makes me happy (and be one that was taken with my consent. And with a filter :),’ the slick starlet added.
