Ant Anstead tells Christina Hall, Tarek El Moussa to ‘stop flirting’ on ‘The Flip Off’ — and Heather Rae Young reacts

Christina Hall’s past and present collided in a lighthearted yet entertaining moment on the latest episode of The Flip Off,

where she, her first ex-husband Tarek El Moussa, his wife Heather Rae Young, and her second ex-husband Ant Anstead shared an unexpected exchange.

Anstead, who was a guest judge on the show, jokingly called out Hall and El Moussa for “flirting” with each other—right in front of Young.

A Friendly but Competitive Dynamic

The episode saw Hall, El Moussa, and Young competing in a home-flipping challenge, with Anstead serving as the judge.

As the segment unfolded, Hall got up to get Anstead a glass of water, prompting El Moussa to tease her by exclaiming, “Oh good, you got me a water. Oh, wow!”

Hall quickly shut him down, replying, “No, not for you. You can get your own water.” She then turned her attention to Anstead and playfully asked if El Moussa had been bothering him.

El Moussa, always one for a quick retort, responded, “Your presence just being around him is bothering him, look!” However, Hall was unconvinced, insisting that Anstead was fine.

At this point, Young joined the conversation, redirecting the attention to Anstead and Hall’s relationship. She asked about their “situation,” to which El Moussa bluntly responded, “Oh, it’s f—ked.”

Anstead then decided to take control of the moment, teasing the exes, “Once you guys stop flirting with each other, let’s get into it, ’cause we’re here to do a job.”

Heather Rae Young’s Reaction

Young initially laughed along with everyone else, but as the jokes about flirting continued, she decided to intervene. She playfully warned Anstead, “Now you’re really going to be in trouble if you keep using that word.”

Despite the teasing, the banter between Hall and El Moussa appeared to be all in good fun. Their dynamic has been on display for years, as they continue to co-parent their two children, daughter Taylor, 14, and son Brayden, 9, following their divorce in 2018.

A Surprising Reconciliation Between Hall and Anstead

While the exchange between Hall and El Moussa was lighthearted, her improved relationship with Anstead took a more meaningful turn.

Hall and Anstead, who were married from 2018 to 2020 and share a 5-year-old son, Hudson, had a highly publicized custody battle that strained their post-divorce relationship. However, during the episode, Hall reflected on how things changed after her separation from her third husband, Josh Hall, in July 2024.

She revealed in a confessional that after announcing her split from Josh, she had an unexpected moment with Anstead when picking up their son.

“After Josh and I split up, I went over to [Ant’s] house to pick Hudson up,” she recalled. “And when I walked up to the door, he gave me a huge hug. We hadn’t hugged in years.”

Hall said Anstead expressed his support, telling her, “I’m so sorry for everything you’re going through, and I’m here for you no matter what you need.”

That moment, she said, led to a deep conversation in which they agreed to move forward as co-parents.

“We decided to put all the BS aside and be good co-parents, like Tarek and I are, for Hudson,” she explained.

Anstead also reflected on their journey, admitting that their past conflicts made co-parenting difficult.

“The relationship that we have now is really, really important, and it’s been a transformation as parents,” he said. “It took us four-and-a-half years to get to that point, which is really shameful.”

A Blended Family Moving Forward

Hall’s ability to maintain amicable relationships with both of her ex-husbands has been a point of interest for fans. Her co-parenting arrangement with El Moussa and Young has been widely discussed, particularly after El Moussa and Young married in 2021 and welcomed their son Tristan in 2023.

Meanwhile, Anstead has moved on with actress Renée Zellweger, whom he has been dating since 2021.

Despite the complex family dynamics, the latest episode of The Flip Off proved that the former couples have found a way to coexist—complete with playful jabs and mutual respect. Whether it’s flipping houses or managing blended families, it’s clear that Hall, El Moussa, Young, and Anstead have embraced their unique situation with humor and grace.
