Are Emily Blunt and Anne Hathaway friends? The answer is interesting

Emily Blunt starred in A Quiet Place, while Anne Hathaway performed “I Dreamed a Dream” in Les Misérables. They both, however, found success with the 2006 film The Devil Wears Prada.

Are these award-winning actors still friends? Here’s what we know about Blunt and Hathaway’s relationship.

Both Blunt and Hathaway are award-winning actors who co-starred in the romantic comedy The Devil Wears Prada.

Blunt portrayed the meticulous and fashion-obsessed senior assistant to Miranda named Emily Charlton.

Hathaway portrayed a young journalist named Andrea Sachs, who moved to New York to further her career. She didn’t expect, however, to land a job as a junior assistant at a fashion magazine.

This hire was an especially surprising move of Miranda Priestly (Meryl Streep), who decided to take a chance on the smart girl instead of another fashion fan.

Although Emily was somewhat “snooty” to Andy at the beginning, the two eventually became friends. Even in real life, these actors shared their admiration for each other.

Blunt and Hathaway have a friendship that, as far as fans know, dates back to 2006 and The Devil Wears Prada. Years later, however, Hathaway shared love for her co-star, offering a glimpse into their relationship.

“It was a really exciting time,” Hathaway said of The Devil Wears Prada during a 2008 interview with Entertainment Tonight via Yahoo. “I was also happy. Emily [Blunt], we just really bonded on The Devil Wears Prada, so to be there with one of my favorite people that I’ve met at my job, you know, was really special.”

Outside of The Devil Wears Prada, both actors worked on Disney films. For Hathaway, that meant appearing as Amelia Mignonette Thermopolis Renaldi in The Princess Diaries and The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement.

This actor also appeared in the 2004 Disney Channel original movie, Ella Enchanted as the title character. This story was a new fairy tale, complete with giants, elves, ogres, and a handsome prince.

Blunt, on the other hand, portrayed the title character in the 2018 movie musical, Mary Poppins Returns. This was a sequel to Disney’s iconic Mary Poppins movie, which starred Julie Andrews as the magical nanny.

Recently, Blunt worked on Disney’s Jungle Cruise as the fearless adventurer Lily Houghton. This character teamed up with a “Skipper” named Frank Wolff (Dwayne Johnson) to find a tree said to possess magical healing properties.

The Devil Wears Prada is available for streaming with a premium subscription to Hulu. The film also plays periodically on the television network Encore.
