Ben Shephard, known for his quick wit and charm, recently took to social media to share a lighthearted moment with his wife, Annie.

The beloved TV presenter, 50, gave his followers a glimpse into their latest countryside adventure, playfully teasing Annie about her outfit.
Posting on Instagram, Ben jokingly compared his wife’s bright yellow puffer jacket to “Big Bird,” adding a cheeky tag to her name in his Instagram story.
The couple, who have been enjoying plenty of quality time outdoors, made the most of the winter sunshine during their walk.

Over the past few weeks, they have relished exploring nature together, embracing the fresh air and stunning scenery.

A Refreshing Start to 2025

Ben and Annie recently returned from a trip to Devon, where they spent the New Year surrounded by family.
The couple had been staying with Annie’s relatives, making the most of their time off with beach visits and cozy gatherings. On January 3, Ben shared a selection of photos from their holiday, reflecting on how the trip had left him feeling “refreshed and ready to hit 2025” ahead of his return to This Morning.
Following their relaxing getaway, Ben and Annie are now likely settling back into life at their Richmond home. The couple purchased their luxurious £4 million detached house in 2016, and over the years, Ben has given fans glimpses of their stylish interiors. Their home boasts a serene blue-toned living space, a light-filled conservatory, and an impressive garden where the family enjoys spending time together.
Adjusting to a New Family Dynamic
While Ben and Annie typically share their home with their two sons, Sam, 19, and Jack, 17, 2024 has brought a significant change for their family. In September, their eldest son, Sam, moved away to attend university, marking a big transition for the Shephard household.
During an appearance on Lorraine, Ben spoke candidly about the emotional moment of seeing his son leave for university. “He actually starts lectures today. So he’s had his freshers. It was all very emotional,” he admitted.
The TV host also shared a heartfelt snapshot of Sam with his mum, Annie, as they settled him into his new home in Bristol. Reflecting on the experience, Ben confessed, “She was better than I was, to be fair. I was really, really emotional about it.”
Despite the bittersweet adjustment, Ben was reassured that his son still needed them. Laughing, he revealed that Sam had already FaceTimed them at 7:30 in the morning, seeking advice on how to do his laundry. “She [Annie] was thrilled. She’s still needed!” he joked.
A Love Story That Started at University
Ben and Annie’s relationship has been a steady and enduring one, spanning over two decades. The couple first met as university students in Birmingham and quickly formed a deep connection. After years of dating, they tied the knot in 2004, choosing a breathtaking coastal wedding venue for their big day. They exchanged vows on a private island near Bigbury-on-Sea, with the stunning Burgh Island Hotel providing a picture-perfect setting for their nuptials.

Through the years, Annie has been a pillar of support in Ben’s life, standing by him as he navigated his television career. Speaking about their long-lasting marriage on the White Wine Question Time podcast, Ben expressed his deep gratitude for his wife.
“We met at university – so you knew Annie when I just got into telly – and I was sort of a mere puppy when it came to the world of broadcasting media,” he reminisced. “She has been through all this with me – the highs and the lows of all that experience. And she is still here, somehow still putting up with me, which to this day, I can’t quite believe. I am extraordinarily lucky.”
A Playful Yet Loving Bond
Ben’s latest social media post is just another example of the fun-loving relationship he shares with Annie. While his cheeky humor keeps things lighthearted, his deep appreciation for his wife is evident in every story he shares.

As Ben gears up for another busy year in television, it’s clear that his most treasured moments will always be those spent with Annie and their boys. Whether they’re enjoying family getaways, adjusting to life as parents of a university student, or simply sharing a laugh on a country walk, their bond remains as strong as ever.
