Ben Shephard delighted This Morning viewers on Monday as he shared rare photos of his teenage sons while discussing his recent family skiing holiday.
The TV presenter, 50, made his return to the ITV morning show alongside co-host Cat Deeley, 48, following a well-earned break.
During the broadcast, Ben gave fans a glimpse into his time away, revealing stunning moments from his ski trip with his wife Annie and their two sons, Sam, 19, and Jack, 18.
The holiday provided the family with an opportunity to enjoy quality time together on the slopes, with Ben proudly sharing footage of his boys showcasing their skiing skills.
Ben Shephard’s Family Holiday Revealed
Before Ben and Cat returned to their hosting duties on Monday, This Morning had been helmed by Alison Hammond, 50, and Dermot O’Leary, 51.
The pair stepped in for the duo while they took some time off, leaving fans eager to hear about their week away.
As Ben settled back into the This Morning studio, he excitedly shared details of his trip with Cat and the audience. The presenter played a video clip from his holiday, showing his sons gliding effortlessly down the snowy slopes.
“My two ski now,” Ben said with admiration. “This is me trying to film them. I am doing everything I possibly can to get anywhere near them. That’s Jack.”
Impressed by the boys’ skiing abilities, Cat playfully responded: “Someone was desperate for some Milk Tray! Weren’t they? Like desperate for some chocolate.”
Ben laughed at her remark before adding: “Sam is just ahead of him. It is brilliant. It was such a lovely few days in the mountains.”
Despite his love for skiing, Ben admitted that his wife Annie does not share quite the same enthusiasm for the sport. However, she still joined in on the family getaway and made the most of their time together.
“Annie came as well,” he confirmed. “Lots of people ask… Annie was there as well. She’s not as into the skiing as me and the boys are, but we had a really good laugh!”
Ben Shephard’s Personal Life and Career
Ben Shephard has long been known for keeping his personal life relatively private, which made his decision to share rare pictures of his sons all the more special for fans.
Ben and Annie have been together since the late 1990s after meeting at university. The couple tied the knot in 2004 and have since built a strong and loving family with their two children.
Away from his family life, Ben has had a flourishing career in television. He and Cat Deeley officially joined This Morning as permanent co-hosts in March last year, taking over from longtime presenters Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield. The duo now lead the show from Monday to Thursday, while Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary take over on Fridays.
Ahead of his brief break from the show, Ben took to Instagram on February 14 to inform fans about his temporary absence.
“Ahhh lovely end of the week for me and @catdeeley. Thanks for all your messages,” he wrote. “I hope everyone is ready for some hardcore Valentine’s/Palentine’s/Galentine’s (delete where appropriate) action!! We’ll be back in the studio after half-term!!”
Fan Reactions and the Future of This Morning
Ben and Cat’s return to This Morning was warmly received by fans, with many happy to see them back after their short break. Their fresh and engaging approach to hosting has earned them a strong following since they joined the show last year.
Meanwhile, Alison and Dermot, who stepped in during their absence, have also solidified their place as viewer favorites. The duo first joined This Morning as regular Friday hosts in 2020, replacing Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes. Since then, they have been a staple of the show’s end-of-week programming.
As This Morning continues to evolve, it’s clear that both sets of presenters bring something unique to the table, keeping audiences entertained and engaged. With Ben Shephard back in the studio after his fun-filled family holiday, viewers can look forward to more of his signature warmth and charm in the coming weeks.
