Beyonce and Jay Z have revealed they are expecting twins after making the announcement on Instagram on Wednesday.

The happy news came as a huge shock to the stars’ fans, but the loved up couple – who welcomed daughter Blue Ivy into the world in 2012 – have spoken about their plans to add to their family in the past.

Speaking to ABC News last summer, she said: “I would like more children. I think my daughter needs some company. I definitely love being big sister.”

Bey made the big announcement on social media to the surprise of pretty much EVERYONE, and revealed she is pregnant with twins.

“We would like to share our love and happiness,” she wrote in a statement on the social media site. “We have been blessed two times over.

“We are incredibly grateful that our family will be growing by two, and we thank you for your well wishes.
