Blake Lively appears ‘happy’ and ‘unbothered’ by Justin Baldoni legal drama at SXSW premiere for ‘Another Simple Favor’

Blake Lively made an impression of grace and composure at the premiere of Another Simple Favor at SXSW,

appearing “happy” and “unbothered” despite her ongoing legal battles with director Justin Baldoni.

The actress, who is no stranger to the spotlight, showcased her usual charm and upbeat energy

as she walked the red carpet at the Paramount Theatre in Austin, Texas, on Friday night.

Lively, dressed in a stunning strapless latex dress by designer Renée Masoomian featuring black accents, looked effortlessly chic as she posed for photographers.

According to eyewitnesses, her radiant smile and positive demeanor stood in stark contrast to the legal drama currently surrounding her.

Inside the theatre, Lively was seen taking selfies with fans, further proving that she remained unfazed by the turmoil surrounding her.

The actress, who plays Emily in the Simple Favor franchise, then took a front-row seat next to her co-star, Michele Morrone, before the screening began. As the film’s director, Paul Feig, addressed the audience, both Lively and her co-star, Anna Kendrick, received enthusiastic cheers from the crowd. The energy was palpable, with Lively enjoying the moment and even indulging in some popcorn during the screening. It was clear that she was fully focused on the film and her fans, not allowing external issues to detract from the experience.

Lively’s appearance at the premiere comes at a time when her legal dispute with Justin Baldoni has been grabbing headlines. In December 2024, the actress filed a lawsuit against Baldoni, accusing the director of sexually harassing her while they were working together on the set of their 2024 romantic drama It Ends With Us. Lively also claimed that Baldoni and his publicists had orchestrated a smear campaign against her, further complicating the situation.

Despite the gravity of her allegations, Baldoni has firmly denied all claims. In a move to protect his reputation, the director filed a $400 million defamation and extortion lawsuit against Lively, her husband Ryan Reynolds, and her publicist, Leslie Sloane. The lawsuit also includes a separate claim against The New York Times after they published a story detailing Lively’s harassment accusations. The outlet has stated that it will vigorously defend its reporting.

The ongoing legal battle has created tension not only between Lively and Baldoni but also between the two sides’ legal teams. In January, Lively’s attorneys requested that certain evidence in the case be classified as “Attorney’s Eyes Only,” meaning it would be kept from the public. This proposal is aimed at protecting highly sensitive information that could cause damage if publicly disclosed. Lively’s team argues that due to the high-profile nature of the individuals involved, confidentiality must be maintained.

In response, Baldoni’s legal team expressed surprise at Lively’s efforts to limit the public’s access to evidence, especially given her prominent role in discussing the case in the media. They pointed to Reynolds’ joke about the situation during an SNL skit in February, suggesting that Lively’s public actions and her attempt to restrict information are contradictory.

As the legal battle continues, Lively remains focused on her career, appearing at high-profile events such as the Another Simple Favor premiere with a calm, collected, and seemingly unbothered demeanor. Her ability to balance the personal and professional aspects of her life amid such a turbulent time demonstrates her resilience and commitment to her craft.

The trial between Lively and Baldoni is slated to begin in March 2026, and as the situation develops, fans are sure to continue following the high-stakes legal drama. For now, Lively seems determined to move forward, using her public appearances to emphasize her professionalism and enthusiasm for her work, undistracted by the legal battles that loom over her personal life.
