Blake Lively made a glamorous public appearance at South by Southwest (SXSW), seemingly unfazed by her ongoing legal dispute with actor and director Justin Baldoni.

The actress, 36, attended the world premiere of her upcoming film, Another Simple Favor, at the Paramount Theatre in Austin, Texas, on Friday.
Despite the legal battle unfolding between her and Baldoni, Lively appeared composed and cheerful, posing for photographers, signing autographs, and engaging with fans.
Lively’s Confident Return to the Spotlight

For her first major public outing since the lawsuits between her and Baldoni became public, Lively stunned in a light pink latex dress adorned with black lace floral embellishments.

The outfit featured a corset-style waist with black trim, and she completed the look with a matching latex cover-up.

Her signature blonde hair was styled in loose waves, with part of it pinned up, giving her an effortlessly elegant look.
During a panel discussion inside the theater, Lively spoke about reprising her role as Emily Nelson in Another Simple Favor, a sequel to the 2018 dark comedy A Simple Favor. She shared her excitement about returning to the character, calling Emily one of her favorite roles to date.
“I love this character so much. It’s probably my favorite character I’ve ever been fortunate enough to play,” Lively said. “When Paul [Feig] asked us to come back, I was so excited.”
She admitted that filming the first movie had been nerve-wracking due to uncertainty about its tone.
“I was really nervous on the first one because we didn’t know if we were making a drama or a comedy,” she explained. “When we asked Paul, he said, ‘Yes,’ which is not really an answer to the question.”
However, she felt more confident this time around—until Feig threw in an unexpected twist.
“Right before shooting, he said, ‘I have a little bit of a curveball idea,’” Lively revealed, adding that the change “definitely upped the ante” and made for an intense viewing experience.
Anna Kendrick’s Cryptic Response on Working with Lively Amid Legal Drama
Lively’s co-star Anna Kendrick, who also stars in the sequel, appeared hesitant when asked about working with Lively amid her legal battle with Baldoni. When questioned about the experience, Kendrick offered a vague response, simply saying, “Oh, you know,” before quickly shifting focus to a fan interaction.

In another interview, when asked how the film’s release had been impacted by recent events, Kendrick jokingly replied, “Why, what happened? I did ayahuasca, and the last year of my life is just gone.” Her playful but evasive answers left many wondering about the behind-the-scenes dynamics.
Ongoing Legal Battle Between Lively and Baldoni
Lively and Baldoni’s legal battle has continued to intensify, with both filing lawsuits against each other. In December, Lively accused Baldoni of sexual harassment, while Baldoni countered with a lawsuit of his own, claiming that her allegations were false and an attempt to repair her public image following backlash over the press tour for It Ends With Us, the film they co-starred in and which Baldoni directed.
The legal teams for both parties recently faced off in court over a proposed protective order. The dispute centered on how much confidentiality should be maintained regarding the evidence in the case. Lively’s attorneys argued for an “attorney’s eyes only” (AEO) designation, seeking to keep certain communications—particularly text messages involving “high-profile individuals”—from becoming public.
Baldoni’s lawyer, Bryan Freedman, pushed back against the request, arguing that it was offensive to suggest the defense team would disregard a protective order issued by the court. He also expressed concerns that Lively’s legal team was shifting the responsibility onto the defense.

During the hearing, Judge Lewis Liman stated that if a piece of evidence is relevant to the case, the defense should have access to it. However, the judge did not make an immediate decision on the specific terms of the protective order.
Lively Focuses on Her Career Amid Legal Dispute
Despite the ongoing courtroom drama, Lively has remained focused on promoting Another Simple Favor and her professional commitments. Her poised and cheerful demeanor at SXSW suggested that she is determined not to let the legal battle overshadow her work.
While neither Lively nor Baldoni has publicly commented in detail on their legal dispute, the case continues to unfold, with the potential for more revelations in the coming months. For now, Lively appears committed to moving forward, keeping her attention on her acting career and the upcoming release of her highly anticipated film.
