Brooklyn Peltz Beckham is being praised online for owning the “negativity” that has surrounded him in recent years with a tongue-in-cheek ad.

The 25-year-old is the oldest child of former soccer player David Beckham and ex-Spice Girl Victoria Beckham. 

He has faced scrutiny online over his varied career choices, having dabbled in creative pursuits such as photography and cooking, but now he has joined in on the joke.

In an ad for Booking.com, an online travel agency that is promoting its Genius loyalty program, he made fun of his various career paths—as well as his intelligence.

“You’re a great chef, you’re a great photographer, I’m Brooklyn Peltz Beckham,” he whispers to himself at the start of the clip, 

which has been uploaded to the Booking.com Instagram account.

Titled “Brooklyn in NYC,” the video is a curation of some of Peltz Beckham’s favorite things to do in New York City. The trip is one that people can win for themselves by commenting on the Instagram post.

The video is made up of a variety of amusing clips, such as Peltz Beckham agreeing that he is “a professional traveler” and saying he managed to charm his way into a room upgrade, which is actually a perk of the Genius loyalty program.

Elsewhere in the ad, Peltz-Beckham asks the camera person to look at the Brooklyn Bridge, which he refers to as “my bridge.” As part of the skit, Peltz Beckham isn’t actually pointing at Brooklyn Bridge but another bridge entirely. Also included are comical clips of him in a graffiti class and a bagel-making class.

At the time of writing, the video had been played over 350,000 times. People have taken to the comment section to praise Peltz Beckham, with many impressed with him for leaning into the conversation surrounding him online.

Newsweek emailed Booking.com and a spokesperson for Peltz Beckham for comment on Tuesday.

“Fantastic move from Brooklyn. Own the ‘negativity’ and transform it into your power,” Instagram user @mattskings wrote.

“That’s the perception of him people have & he took it & spinned [sic] it into something good. Genius indeed haha,” @badman.kimani commented.

“Bizarrely great advertising and marketing and the English sense of humor and wittiness. Fair play,” @harley2303 said.

“I like the fact he can laugh at himself. This is brilliant,” wrote @rebeccaly21.

Peltz Beckham is no stranger to being trolled online, as he was previously mocked after seemingly claiming he invented combined last names.

In a previous interview with Variety, the 25-year-old said he created this “new thing” following his marriage to wife Nicola Peltz Beckham.

“We had this idea—we kind of combined our last names,” the magazine’s cover star told the outlet. “I was just like, oh, we could start a new thing, and it’ll be so cool to have our own kids and have little Peltz Beckhams running around.”

Fans were quick to take to X to tease him for his comment, with X user @AyeshaPatrice writing: “As if I’ve not had a double barrel surname for the last 31 years.”

Editor Emmy Griffiths posted via her verified account: “Brooklyn Beckham introducing double barrel surnames to the world is akin to Alexandra Burke bringing ‘elephant in the room’ to the U.K.”

Others defended the model’s remark.

“I really don’t think that’s what he’s saying,” one person posted in response to Griffiths’ post.

Another agreed, asking: “Am I the only who thinks that he meant that combining both their surnames would be a new thing to create a legacy for their children? Instead of just Beckham.”
