Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever found quite the way to spend their off day on Tuesday.
The Fever attended the 2024 United States Olympic swimming trials at the Indianapolis Colts’ Lucas Oil Stadium, and Clark even made sure she touched the water in the pool:
Hopefully for the Fever, that water doesn’t cool them off.
They have bounced back nicely following their 1-8 start to the season with wins in four of their last six games, including the last two over the Chicago Sky and Atlanta Dream. Clark has also enjoyed some of the best games of her young career in that span against the Sky and Washington Mystics.
She poured in 30 points to go with eight rebounds, six assists and four steals against Washington and finished with 23 points, nine assists and eight rebounds in the win over Chicago.
Those are surely the types of performances the Fever’s front office envisioned when they selected her with the No. 1 overall pick of the 2024 WNBA draft, and things seem to be coming together for the young team with a bright future that is fighting for playoff positioning in the early going this season.
More performances like that will also likely land her on the Olympics team in four years after there was no shortage of discourse when she was left off the team this year.
But at least she got to attend the US trials in Indianapolis.
