During the engagement at the Army Air Corps, Prince William received a Tartan wrap for Catherine, a scarf for himself, and wooden helicopters for his children, a gesture that didn’t go unnoticed by royal fans.

The official handover of the colonel-in-chief role from King Charles to Prince William took place during a special ceremony at the Army Aviation Center in Stockbridge, Hampshire. Previously, it was expected that Prince Harry would assume the role after his father, who held it for over three decades. However, Prince Harry relinquished his military roles upon stepping down as a working royal in 2020.

During the ceremony, King Charles handed over the regiment’s beret and stable belt to Prince William, symbolizing the transfer of command. The father and son duo shared a moment of camaraderie, posing for photographs in front of an Apache helicopter, marking the official transition of responsibility.

Prince William’s military service, which included deployments to the Falkland Islands and operational duties as a search and rescue pilot, has been a significant aspect of his life. After leaving the Armed Forces, he retrained as an air ambulance pilot before assuming honorary military roles.
