Celebrities Share Their Big Fear: Rihanna admitted she is also OBSESSED with something in the bathroom and said that she is even so scared that she uses the bathroom in her closet!

Being frightened by spiders, small spaces and even flying is pretty common. You might be afraid of all of those things, and some big stars are, too.

Other celebrities have copped to some more unique terrors. One star is afraid of avocados while another has explained their fear of chewing gum.

A musician explained why they have a thing about spoons, and an A-list actor explained how revolving doors make them nervous.

We rounded up 16 celebrities who have shared their biggest fears, some more mundane and others quite unique.

“I was recently sitting outside and this raccoon comes right up, like right there.

And I’m expecting it to be more afraid of me and I’m staring at it and it’s staring right back like he’s gonna kick my butt,” Katie Holmes once admitted on The Tonight Show, via People.

“I didn’t know what to do so I just stood up and barked at it and he just ran away.”

“I always feel that when I go to the toilet that something’s going to come out of the bottom,” Rita Ora once told the Daily Star, via People.

“I have this thing where I think this tunnel must start from somewhere and sometimes I think, ‘What if something comes out of the toilet?’

That’s been one of my fears. I always make sure I put the light on when I go.”

“I’m super-scared of sea creatures. Even tiny fish. One time I was in the water — and the water in Barbados is so clear you can see your feet — I saw all these tiny fish swimming around my feet, and I had a panic attack. I just froze. This man had to lift me out of the water,” Rihanna admitted during an interview with Blender, via PopCrush.

““My bride wears gloves in the pool because she hates the feeling of pruney finger tips on skin. #Hollyweird #iloveher,” Kristen Bell‘s husband Dax Shepard revealed about his wife on Instagram.

“Every time I have an avocado — every time I cut through an avocado, and I see the stone, I envision that stone being lodged in my windpipe,” Martin Freeman admitted while on The Graham Norton Show. “And every time I think [about avocado] I physically [cringe]. I can’t stand it.”

E Online noted that Orlando Bloom is said to have “ran like crazy” when pigs got loose on a set once.

“I had these reoccurring dreams where I’d be in a swimming pool and dolphins would be surrounding me, and not even attacking me, they would just be bumping me with their nose,” Tyra Banks once admitted on her talk show, via Us Weekly. “I couldn’t wake up, and it was the weirdest, scariest nightmare for me.”

“I don’t like revolving doors, and I really don’t like that blind spot when you’re driving and go into a tunnel,” Matthew McConaughey told The Frisky, according to Us Weekly. “You know that spot where you can’t see for about 10 feet. You can’t see what’s in front of you.

“This has been a phobia of mine for years. I don’t want anything bad to happen to whales and I know the phobia is totally irrational, but we don’t pick our phobias. I low-key have a fear of the ocean, but a whale I can’t even look at, it freaks me out so much,” Khloe Kardashian told her fans on X (formerly Twitter).

“I hate flying. People are shocked by that because I fly all the time, but I think defying gravity is just frightening,” Nick Jonas once told Cosmpolitan.

“I have a bad sweet tooth and I eat tons of unbaked things. Dough. Fudge. Brownie mix. Cake mix. To the point where you think you have salmonella. I don’t know if I’ve ever had uncontrollable diarrhea but it’s a constant fear. It must mean something in my childhood,” Megan Fox told Wonderland Magazine.

She went on to list a few more fears: “Flying. I can’t stand to touch newspapers. Anything laminated is fine. Actual dry ass paper I can’t touch. It gives me chillbumps. It’s like nails on a chalkboard. Ughh. Or like tissue paper. People can’t touch me with dry things like that. I get really upset. It’s something about how dry it is that I can’t touch it. Those are my main fears.”

“I have this phobia: I don’t like mirrors,” Pamela Anderson told the Daily Mail, via Fox News.

Oprah Winfrey is so afraid of gum that it has been banned at her office.

“It comes from my childhood. I grew up poor in Mississippi, and my grandmother – absolutely no hyperbole whatsoever – my grandmother used to try to save gum, so she would put it on the bedpost, she would put it on the cabinet,” she explained while on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, via Fox News. “As a child, I used to bump into it, and it would rub up against me, and you know what it’s like when you’ve taken it out of your mouth, and it’s been out a couple of weeks? It’s bad. And so I was afraid of it.”

“I’m only scared of birds. Something about wings and beaks and the flapping. I’m terrified of them,” Scarlett Johansson told Vulture while discussing filming her movie We Bought a Zoo. “That still hasn’t gone away. If they’d asked me to put a bird on my shoulder I would’ve done it, but it would’ve been hard. Cockroaches. I cannot stand cockroaches. That’s one thing I absolutely couldn’t do. But that’s not really an animal, is it? It’s an insect. … Actually, my uncle is terrified of birds, as well, so it runs in the family.

“See I’m not so much scared of spoons, I’ll hold one,” Liam Panye said of his phobia of spoons while speaking to CapitalFM via MTV. “But I don’t like eating with them, if they’re not my spoons, if that makes sense.”

He continued, explaining: “It is a bit weird. When I was a kid I was a bit naughty at school and when you were naughty they made you do the washing up. I had to wash all these nasty spoons and then it’s just stuck with me after. I don’t know what people are doing with their spoons, I don’t want to know!”

“Sometimes when I would come home from school the biggest butterfly or moth you’d ever seen would be just sitting on our front gate. I would climb over the fence, crawl around to the side of the house — anything to avoid having to go through the front gate,” Nicole Kidman admitted during an interview with Contact Music in 2005. “I have tried to get over it … I walked into the big butterfly cage at the American Museum Of Natural History and had the butterflies on me, but that didn’t work,”

She continued, saying, “I jump out of planes, I could be covered in cockroaches, I do all sorts of things, but I just don’t like the feel of butterflies’ bodies.”
