Chicago Sky rookie Angel Reese has a message for the WNBA and TV networks. She wants all 12 teams in the league to get as much coverage as the Indiana Fever are getting, thanks in large part to Caitlin Clark.
Chicago Sky rookie Angel Reese isn’t bashful about saying what’s on her mind. In a recent social media post, the former LSU star made her pitch to television networks and the WNBA to start building up the entire league instead of just one team.
Reese had plenty to say in a recent post on X, including an apparent concern over the media’s hyper-focus on a specific team. That appears to be in reference to the Indiana Fever, who drafted Iowa’s Caitlin Clark with the No. 1 pick in the WNBA Draft.
As Clark joined the league, the Fever announced that 36 of their 40 regular season games would air on national television. All Reese wants is for other teams in the WNBA to get similar treatment.
“Give every team the same PUBLICITY cause it ain’t just one team,” Reese said in her post on X. She concluded by adding, “Oh the CHICAGO SKY ARE HERE & ON THE RISE!”
Reese is part of a rookie WNBA class that is expected to help grow and revolutionize the league. In addition to Reese and Clark, fans are tuning in to see Cameron Brink (Los Angeles Sparks), Kamilla Cardoso (Chicago Sky), Kate Martin (Las Vegas Aces), Rickea Jackson (Los Angeles Sparks) and Jacy Sheldon (Dallas Wings).
There’s been a ton of coverage for Clark and the Fever because of the rookie’s success at Iowa. But Reese made her point clear on social media: There’s more than one team — and one player — in the WNBA.
Reese and Cardoso will get their shot at Clark and the Fever on Saturday, June 1 when Chicago travels to play Indiana at Gainbrdige FIeldhouse at 12 p.m. ET. That game will air on ESPN.
Through two games, Reese is averaged 11.5 points and 8.5 rebounds per game. Clark is averaging 17 points and 5.5 assists per game in four contests.

Martin, a former Iowa star and teammate of Caitlin Clark, impressed through training camp and preseason with the reigning WNBA champs. Her impressive play earned her a final roster spot, and now some meaningful minutes.

Plum lauded Martin earlier this year as well.
“Kate Martin is awesome. Kate Martin picks up things so quickly, she’s an amazing sponge,” Plum said. “I think Becky nicknamed her Kate ‘Money’ Martin. I think that’s gonna stick.
“And when I say ‘money,’ it’s not just about scoring and stuff, she’s just in the right place at the right time. She just makes people better. And that’s what Becky values, that’s what our coaching staff values and that’s why she’s gonna be a great asset to our team.”
The Aces are now 2-0 to start the season.

‘Yes, we do have freedom of speech,’ James said. ‘But at times, there are ramifications for the negative that can happen when you’re not thinking about others, when you only think about yourself.
‘I don’t want to get into a word or sentence feud with Daryl Morey, but I believe he wasn’t educated on the situation at hand, and he spoke.
‘So many people could have been harmed, not only financially but physically, emotionally, spiritually,’ the Lakers star continued. ‘So just be careful what we tweet and what we say and what we do. Even though, yes, we do have freedom of speech, it can be a lot of negative that comes with it.’
James later clarified on Twitter saying: ‘Let me clear up the confusion. I do not believe there was any consideration for the consequences and ramifications of the tweet. I’m not discussing the substance. Others can talk about that.’
James may have made another misstep when he added: ‘My team and this league just went through a difficult week.’

Kanter Freedom offered to tour China’s ‘slave labor camps’ with James, Michael Jordan and Nike co-founder, Phil Knight – who was present at Crypto.com Arena Tuesday – during 2021.
‘To the owner of @Nike, Phil Knight,’ Kanter Freedom tweeted in October of that year. ‘How about I book plane tickets for us and let’s fly to China together. We can try to visit these SLAVE labor camps and you can see it with your own eyes.’
Using their twitter handles, Kanter Freedom added that James and Jordan — two of Nike’s most recognized spokespeople — are ‘welcome to come too.’ Kanter ended the post with the hashtag: #EndUyghurForcedLabor.
Most recently, Kanter Freedom has received support from House Republicans, who have called on President Joe Biden to consider sanctions against Turkish officials and entities behind a $500,000 bounty for information leading to the capture of the former NBA star.
Kanter Freedom, who amended his last name to celebrate gaining US citizenship in 2021, is on the Turkish government’s 2023 most wanted list after years of speaking out against President Recep Erdogan’s regime and its human rights abuses.
Meanwhile James has solely spoken within basketball circles for the past months.
