If you invest in one pair of shoes for the summer, let it be a pair of mesh ballet flats. At least according to Jennifer Lawrence.
The Hunger Games alum was among the first to wear the shoe trend you’re likely to see just about everywhere.
She stepped out in New York City in the classic white-tee-and-jeans uniform with mesh ballet flats — though it’s not the only iteration she owns.
The Oscar winner then broke out another transparent pair in late January while walking in Los Angeles, in a nude mesh that juxtaposed her black fishnet flats from the year before.
Though Lawrence’s flats are likely designer, we spotted a lookalike pair at Amazon that’s only $47 right now.
Much like the No Hard Feelings star’s shoes, these flats are made from fishnet-like material and shiny faux leather, which come together in a sleek Mary Jane with silver hardware.
This Amazon pair is also available in eight shades, including red and tan.
Shoppers are just as impressed with the shoes, with one noting in their review that the flats “[look] like the high-end version” of this style and feel “comfy and sturdy” despite their delicate appearance. Another reviewer recommends the shoes for anyone who wants to “get on this trend but not spend a lot.”
Plus, Lawrence isn’t the only star making a case for this shoe style. Zendaya recently sported the trendy take on Hollywood-favorite ballet flats between promotional events for her latest film Challengers.
While Lawrence has been a fan of this style for quite some time, New York City fashion influencer Kelsey Kotzur elects mesh ballet flats as the standout trend this season. And there’s even a celebrity-inspired ’fit you can recreate when styling them.
“Mesh flats are great for every sort of outfit, but I love them with a pair of long, loose denim [jeans] and a button-up blouse,” Kotzur tells PEOPLE. “It’s the wrong shoe theory in practice,” she adds, a nod to the unconventional styling tip stylist Allison Bornstein popularized on TikTok.
This summer, snap up a pair of see-through ballet flats. Keep scrolling to see a few other mesh options we spotted at Amazon.
