Rupert Grint, Emma Watson, and Daniel Radcliffe, who played Ron Weasley, Hermione Granger, and Harry Potter, respectively, in the Harry Potter film series. 

Have been close friends since the beginning of the franchise. 

However, there is no evidence to suggest that Grint was in love with Watson during the filming of the Harry Potter movies. 

In fact, during the Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts special, both Watson and Grint admitted to both considering leaving the series due to their struggles with fame. 

In one particularly moving moment, Grint made Watson well up as he spoke of how the films meant they would always be connected to one another. 

“We’re family, we always will be,” Grint told her. “It’s a strong bond, we’ll always be part of each other’s lives.” After they hugged, Grint told Watson, “I love you.” 

After a beat, he added, “as friends”, making them both laugh. Watson has said she was “taken aback” by Grint’s comments during the reunion special and that it was the “most emotional” part of making the reunion special which aired on HBO Max in the US and Sky in the UK .

As for Daniel Radcliffe, he has been a close friend of both Grint and Watson since the beginning of the Harry Potter franchise. Radcliffe has been very private about his personal life, but he has been romantically linked to several people in the past.
