David Beckham is seemingly picking sides in the royal family feud.

The former soccer star, 48, has reportedly accepted a dinner invitation with King Charles III, to discuss the possibility of Beckham becoming an ambassador for the Prince’s Foundation.
According to The Sun, sources say that Beckham is hoping to get knighted.
“It’s an open secret that David wants a knighthood one day, and many people have questioned why he isn’t a ‘Sir’ after all he’s done,” a source told the outlet.

“Linking up with the king rather than Harry would certainly help.”

He was named an Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, also known as an OBE, in June 2003 for services to football.

In 2017, his wife Victoria, 49, also got an OBE for her contributions to fashion.
A longtime friend of the royal family, David even waited 12 hours in the queue following Queen Elizabeth’s death in September 2022, to pay tribute near her coffin.
The power couple was recently the subjects of a Netflix documentary, “Beckham” (now streaming), that covered David’s alleged cheating on Victoria, among other events.
“It wasn’t easy and it was an emotional roller coaster over the last two and a half years, but I think we’ve produced something that my team can be very proud of,” Beckham told People about the documentary.
The foundation is a charity founded by the king that helps provide skills to young people.
“The king wants to suss out whether he and David can work together and explore potential projects and find out if they share any common ground,” a source told the Sun.
Previously, Beckham had a similar role representing Invictus Games, the competition for sick and injured servicemen and women that was founded by Prince Harry in 2014.
But, Beckham allegedly distanced himself from Prince Harry after Harry and Meghan Markle moved to California, stepped down as senior royals in 2020, and had tensions with the royal family over exposing their dirty laundry.
David and Victoria Beckham were longtime friends of Prince Harry and Meghan — and even attended their 2018 nuptials. But, in July, the Beckhams were allegedly accused of leaking news stories about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, which led to a fallout between the former pals.
Over the summer, a source told the Mail on Sunday that David is “absolutely bloody furious” after accusations supposedly flew during a tense phone call between the couples.
“Any making up now is so unlikely,” the source claimed.
