Real Madrid are champions once more, winning the La Liga title for a record-extending 36th time.
Their championship wouldn’t be possible without the brilliance of Jude Bellingham, who more than lived up to the hype in his first season with the Spanish giants.
Many stars paid tribute to the talented Englishman, including David Beckham, who took to social media to praise his compatriot.
Beckham pays tribute to Bellingham
The former Real Madrid star commented on Bellingham’s Instagram post, writing, “Well done, mate,” with a white heart emoji.
He included the IG handles of Bellingham and Real Madrid in his comment before concluding it with the word “campeones.”
Beckham knows a thing or two about winning titles in the Spanish top-flight as he helped Real Madrid capture the La Liga crown in the 2006-07 season.
Los Blancos finished the season with the same number of points as bitter rivals Barcelona but clinched the title because of their superior head-to-head record.
Bellingham’s first La Liga title didn’t go down the wire, with Real Madrid clinching the championship with four matches remaining in their schedule.
They sealed another title with their 3-0 victory over Cadiz. Brahim Diaz opened the scoring for Real with a goal in the 51st minute.
Bellingham then doubled Madrid’s lead in the 68th minute, finding the back of the net a couple of minutes after he came off the bench, per The Guardian.
