Emma Watson’s first day at Oxford got her whole class punished, and her response to her mistake…

Her teenage years were dominated by the wildly successful Harry Potter film franchise.

And Emma Watson’s fame led the Headington School, Oxford, to take special measures to ensure her studies weren’t disrupted by over-enthusiastic pupils, according to a report by The Tab.

A penalty points system was allegedly enforced that saw students reprimanded for approaching the actress, 26.

One former pupil told the publication: ‘Of course if you were friends with her you could speak to her, but no one was allowed to go up and ask for an autograph or anything.’

Parents were reportedly told of the system, with three breaches leading to a detention.

While another explained: ‘I even put up a poster saying welcome back Hermione.

‘But nobody ever dared to ask her for an autograph. I remember being told about it quite formally, and was really scared of getting a penalty point. At the time it would have been so embarrassing.”

A representatives for Headington School told the MailOnline: ”There were no special disciplinary measures implemented during Emma’s time at Headington School.’

Not only has Emma tasted global success on the screen, but she’s also flourished academically, achieving A grades in English literature, geography and art at A level as well as graduating from Brown University with a bachelor’s degree in English literature in 2014.

In the same year, Emma was also appointed a UN Goodwill Ambassador.

She attended the launch of the HeForShe campaign in New York, where she delivered a speech calling for men to play a greater role in ending gender inequality.

At the United Nations headquarters, she revealed the sexism she has experienced throughout her life, saying it started at the age of eight when she was branded ‘bossy’ for wanting to direct school plays.

She continued: ‘At 15 my girlfriends started dropping out of their sports teams because they didn’t want to appear “muscly”… at 18 my male friends were unable to express their feelings.’

She also added that the mistaken identity of staunch feminist campaigners as ‘man-haters’ has to end.

Earlier this year, Emma revealed she was going to take a year-long hiatus from the acting world in order to focus on studying and improving her knowledge on feminism.
