Fox News’ Kat Timpf reveals she was diagnosed with breast cancer shortly before birth of first child, ‘I’m lucky to be…’

In a shocking and deeply personal revelation, Fox News personality Kat Timpf has disclosed that she was diagnosed with breast cancer just hours before giving birth to her first child.

The announcement, made via social media on February 25, has left fans and colleagues both stunned

and supportive as she navigates the dual challenges of new motherhood and a cancer diagnosis.

Timpf, a regular panelist on the late-night show Gutfeld!, shared the emotional news in an Instagram post,

detailing how she learned of her diagnosis a mere 15 hours before going into labor.

“Last week, I welcomed my first child into the world. About fifteen hours before I went into labor, I was diagnosed with breast cancer,” she wrote.

Despite the severity of the news, her doctors have reassured her that the cancer is at stage zero and has almost certainly not spread.

A Rollercoaster of Emotions

The Fox News host recounted the whirlwind of emotions she experienced upon receiving the diagnosis. “I woke up more-than-a-week-past-due pregnant, completely consumed by doing everything I could to get the baby out,” she wrote. “By the middle of the afternoon, I was waddling from appointment to appointment, talking about how to get my cancer out.”

Her doctors advised that the best course of action would likely be a double mastectomy as soon as possible, a recommendation that added another layer of stress to an already overwhelming day. “I asked all the questions I could, including if I could get a copy of my tumor ultrasound to put on the fridge next to the ultrasound of my baby,” she recalled, showing her characteristic wit and humor even in the face of adversity.

Hours later, she went into spontaneous labor, describing how she was “crawling around on the floor of my apartment” before heading to the hospital. There, she welcomed her son into the world, an experience she described as profoundly joyful despite the difficult circumstances.

Finding Strength in Humor and Support

Even in such a trying time, Timpf maintained her signature sense of humor. She praised the hospital staff for being “excellent audiences for dark humor” and shared how, minutes after her son was born, she was already joking about what her birth announcement might look like.

As she embarks on both motherhood and her fight against cancer, Timpf remains optimistic. “I’m learning to celebrate everything I can,” she wrote. “I’m lucky that we found the cancer so early; I’m lucky to be my son’s mom. I mean, I know I’m biased, but the little dude absolutely rules—and not just because he might have saved my life.”

Her words resonated deeply with her colleagues and fans. Fellow Fox News hosts and friends quickly took to social media to offer their support. Greg Gutfeld, her co-host on Gutfeld!, wrote, “We’re all here for you, Kat!” Lisa “Kennedy” Montgomery added, “You are amazing in every way. And you were heroic in labor given the day you’d just had! I love you.”

Meghan McCain, who has shared her own experiences with public scrutiny and health challenges, also offered words of encouragement. “You’re one of the strongest women I’ve ever known, and we have been through many dark times together—there is truly no one tougher. We love you and your family so much.”

A Journey of Resilience and Hope

Timpf concluded her heartfelt post with a message of gratitude and determination. “Thank you all for your support, laughter, and love as I embrace this wildly unexpected chapter. Here’s to resilience, to miracles in the midst of chaos, and to finding humor and hope even on the toughest days.”

Her announcement has sparked an outpouring of support, with many expressing admiration for her courage and positivity. As she embarks on this challenging journey, her strength, humor, and the love of her family and friends will undoubtedly serve as guiding lights.

For now, Timpf is focusing on her recovery and her new role as a mother. Her fans and colleagues will be watching and supporting her every step of the way, inspired by her resilience in the face of life’s most unexpected trials.
