Fox News star Kat Timpf discovers she has cancer 15 hours before giving birth

Fox News personality Kat Timpf recently shared an emotional and shocking revelation: she was diagnosed with breast cancer just 15 hours before delivering her first child.

The 36-year-old commentator and television host made the announcement in an Instagram post, expressing both gratitude and disbelief at the timing of her diagnosis.

Timpf, known for her sharp wit and political commentary,

revealed that she had been anxiously awaiting the arrival of her baby when she received the unexpected cancer diagnosis. “Last week, I welcomed my first child into the world.

About fifteen hours before I went into labor, I was diagnosed with breast cancer,” she wrote in her post.

Despite the difficult news, she emphasized that her doctors had identified it as stage zero,

meaning the cancer was caught at a very early stage with a strong likelihood that it had not spread.

The news prompted an overwhelming response from fans, colleagues, and well-wishers. Many people flooded her social media with messages of support, while others offered unsolicited medical advice. While appreciative of the concern, Timpf admitted feeling overwhelmed by the flood of opinions regarding her treatment plan.

Taking to social media once again, she addressed the feedback in a candid video. “First of all, thank you so much for all the support. It’s meant so much to me,” she said. “This is obviously a really crazy, difficult, unexpected time, and I really do appreciate it. But I wanted to address a few things because I’ve also been overwhelmed with, I guess you could say, medical advice?”

Some comments questioned her doctor’s recommendation to undergo a double mastectomy, suggesting that a lumpectomy might be sufficient. Others, claiming to be medical professionals, deemed the procedure extreme for a stage-zero diagnosis. In response, Timpf clarified that she had consulted extensively with a team of experts and was confident in her decision.

“Trust me, there’s no one for whom that seems more extreme than me,” she stated. “I don’t take cutting my [breasts] off lightly. As a general rule, I don’t think any woman does. I find it devastating. But I am very grateful to have access to the opinions of many brilliant minds when it comes to breast cancer.”

Timpf emphasized that every case of breast cancer is unique and that there were medical details she had not shared publicly. “I just want to say, trust that I’m making the best decision for me and my family, and I’m getting the best medical advice that I could possibly be getting.”

Her initial Instagram post, titled “An Unconventional Birth Announcement,” also recounted the whirlwind of emotions she experienced upon learning of her diagnosis. “I woke up more than a week past due, completely consumed by doing everything I could to get the baby out,” she wrote. “By the afternoon, I was waddling around from appointment to appointment, talking about how to get my cancer out.”

Despite the shocking circumstances, she maintained her signature sense of humor. “I asked all the questions I could, including if I could get a copy of my tumor ultrasound to put on the fridge next to the ultrasound of my baby.”

Timpf, who married Army veteran Cameron Friscia in 2021, also revealed that she had given birth to a baby boy. “Finally, by the middle of the night, I was crawling around the floor of my apartment in spontaneous labor before heading to the hospital to meet my baby, whom I’d learn at the time of birth was a son.”

Now officially on maternity leave, Timpf is focusing on her recovery while adjusting to new motherhood. “These next three months of maternity leave are going to look a lot different than I’d anticipated, and I’m still getting used to my new reality,” she admitted. “Still, as I navigate new motherhood (and new cancer), I’m learning to celebrate everything I can. I’m lucky that we found the cancer so early; I’m lucky to be my son’s mom. I mean, I know I’m biased, but the little dude absolutely rules—and not just because he might have saved my life.”

The Fox News host’s journey has inspired many, and she remains determined to approach this challenging chapter with resilience, humor, and gratitude. As she embarks on both motherhood and her cancer treatment, Timpf has made it clear that she is ready to fight for her future alongside her newborn son.
