Georgia Harrison has spoken candidly about the emotional toll of discovering just how widely circulated her leaked intimate video remains. 

The Love Island star, now 30, revisits the ordeal in her upcoming ITV documentary, 

Georgia Harrison: Porn, Power, Profit, which explores the revenge porn industry and the growing threat of deepfake pornography.

Harrison’s fight for justice came after her former partner, Celebrity Big Brother winner Stephen Bear, was convicted of sharing the private footage without her consent. 

He served half of his 21-month prison sentence and was later ordered to return £22,305

—the amount prosecutors estimated he profited from uploading the video to OnlyFans. However, Harrison’s battle did not end there.

Tracking Down the Footage

As part of her documentary, Harrison took on the difficult task of locating where her leaked video still exists online. In a harrowing process, she attempted to uncover the networks profiting from such content and understand the ongoing issues surrounding the unauthorized distribution of intimate images.

“What we really wanted to do was get to the bottom of who is behind the posting of image-based sexual abuse that’s still out there,” she explained.

The experience proved incredibly painful, as she was forced to confront the full extent of the video’s reach. “I have people messaging me all the time, sending me clips of it,” she shared. “It’s always in the back of my mind, but having to directly face how many places it’s in was a real struggle.”

Despite the emotional burden, she believes that bringing these realities to light is necessary for change. “The only way to ensure that victims of image-based sexual abuse don’t have to suffer this in the future is for governments and major internet companies to take action,” she stated.

Fighting for Awareness and Change

Harrison has long been vocal about the need for stricter laws regarding revenge porn. By waiving her right to anonymity, she has become a leading advocate in the fight against non-consensual pornography. She emphasized that increased awareness is key to preventing future victims from enduring similar trauma.

Reflecting on her decision to tackle this issue so publicly, she said, “It wasn’t the easiest thing to do, but I know it was the best thing for my future and for other women’s futures.”

During her investigation, Harrison interviewed creators of adult content websites, a representative from Pornhub, and private investigators to better understand both the legal and illegal aspects of the industry.

Overcoming the Trauma

Despite the distressing nature of her ordeal, Harrison credits her strong support system with helping her heal. “I have such a strong family, an amazing partner, and incredible friends,” she said. “They have supported me in every way, making it easier for me to let go of the shame that victims of this kind of abuse often carry.”

She previously described how the violation left her feeling vulnerable and humiliated. “I had to live in fear that this was going to come out and my family would find out,” she told the court during Bear’s sentencing. “It was the worst feeling you could ever imagine.”

Her strength in confronting the issue head-on has turned her personal trauma into a larger movement for justice and reform.

Stephen Bear’s Conviction and Legal Consequences

Bear was convicted in March 2023 for voyeurism and distributing private sexual content without consent. The court found that he had not only recorded the video without Harrison’s knowledge but had also shared it on a paid subscription platform to make a profit.

Despite his conviction, Bear showed little remorse. In the lead-up to his sentencing, he was seen posing for selfies outside the courthouse and even singing Lady in Red to a reporter. His behavior was widely condemned, further highlighting his lack of accountability.

As part of his punishment, Bear was ordered to sign the sex offenders register and adhere to notification requirements for 10 years. Additionally, he was given a five-year restraining order preventing him from contacting Harrison.

Financial Fallout

Although Bear was ordered to pay Harrison £5,000 in compensation, she has also pursued a High Court case, resulting in an award of £207,900 in damages. However, she has publicly stated that he has not paid any of the amount owed.

While serving his sentence, Bear sold his home in Loughton to cover legal costs. The £22,305 he made from distributing the video was recovered in May 2023, but Harrison remains uncompensated for the full damages awarded by the High Court.
