Gino D’Acampo is ‘deeply worried over rising distress to his family’ and urges ITV to contact him after fresh accusations he drew explicit image of female crew member during filming

Gino D’Acampo is reportedly distressed over the impact that recent allegations have had on his family, as new accusations regarding inappropriate behavior emerge.

The celebrity chef, 48, is currently at the center of controversy after multiple individuals have come forward with claims describing his conduct as “distressing,”

“unacceptable,” and “horrendous” over the past 12 years.

The latest allegation involves an incident during live filming, where D’Acampo is accused of drawing an explicit image of a female crew member.

According to reports, the woman claimed that she agreed to let him create a portrait sketch of her, only to be shocked when he instead drew a naked woman with her legs spread open.

The woman also alleged that he made an inappropriate remark about her leather boots.

This claim is now being reviewed by ITV bosses, who have launched an investigation into the matter.

D’Acampo Responds to Allegations

Following the new accusation, D’Acampo has expressed deep concern over the toll this controversy is taking on his family. In a statement issued by his team, he denied the allegations and urged ITV to contact him directly regarding any complaints made against him. His statement reads:

“Mr. D’Acampo was first made aware of these allegations relating to events that are said to have occurred over 17 years ago on the afternoon of Saturday, February 22, when he was emailed by The Sun on Sunday. No details have been provided, just extremely vague allegations with no specific year or person identified and no context explained.”

The statement continues:

“None of these allegations have ever been brought to his attention previously, he does not recollect them, and he does not recognize the allegations or the behavior which is attributed to him. He denies these allegations.”

D’Acampo also emphasized his willingness to cooperate with ITV should they reach out to him. His primary concern, however, is the distress these accusations are causing his loved ones.

Family Stands by D’Acampo

Despite the controversy, D’Acampo’s wife, Jessica, is reportedly standing firmly by his side. The couple, who have been married since 2002 and share three children, are said to be united in facing these challenges. Sources close to the family have indicated that Jessica is unwavering in her support for her husband.

A source revealed:

“Jessica is standing by him 100 percent. If anything, all of this has just brought them even closer together. They’ve always been best friends as well as husband and wife, so this has hit them both hard. But Jessica knows the truth.”

The source further claimed that D’Acampo has always had a “cheeky” personality, something that ITV encouraged throughout his career. While acknowledging that this aspect of his character might be misinterpreted, his family and close friends remain convinced of his innocence.

Melanie Sykes Speaks Out

As the allegations against D’Acampo continue to unfold, former television co-host Melanie Sykes has voiced her thoughts on the issue. Sykes, who co-presented Let’s Do Lunch with Gino & Mel for three years, has criticized the television industry, arguing that more needs to be done to remove “monsters” from the industry.

Reflecting on her experiences, she stated:

“I’ve been watching what’s happening with all these misogynists on TV, and I’m supporting anybody who’s experienced anything beyond the pale. There is no protection. Some of it’s being done behind closed doors, but it’s happening on set.”

She went on to claim that D’Acampo had boasted about his direct access to television executives, suggesting that he had significant influence behind the scenes.

ITV’s Response

Following the recent claims against D’Acampo, ITV has reiterated its commitment to maintaining a professional and respectful work environment. The broadcaster has implemented stricter policies in recent years, including a dedicated Complaints Handling Unit established in 2024.

In a statement, an ITV spokesperson confirmed that the network takes all allegations seriously:

“ITV is completely committed to creating an environment where everyone is treated with respect and feels able to give their best. The standards of behavior that ITV expects are very clear. Everyone working with ITV is subject to ITV’s Code of Ethics and Conduct.”

The broadcaster further emphasized that any inappropriate behavior would not be tolerated and assured that complaints would be investigated thoroughly.

Previous Allegations Against D’Acampo

The latest claims are not the first allegations leveled against the Italian chef. Among the previous accusations, it has been reported that D’Acampo kissed a footballer’s wife on the lips at a charity event without her consent. Witnesses claimed that the incident, which occurred in 2012, left the woman stunned, with D’Acampo allegedly boasting afterward that he did it “because I f****** can.”

D’Acampo Determined to Clear His Name

Despite the growing scrutiny, D’Acampo remains firm in his stance that the allegations are false. He has described the claims as “deeply upsetting” and insisted that such behavior is “simply not in my nature.”

Sources close to him say that he is determined to clear his name and move past the controversy. With his family’s unwavering support, he remains focused on proving his innocence while urging ITV to address the allegations with transparency.

As investigations continue, the outcome of these accusations remains uncertain, but one thing is clear—Gino D’Acampo is fighting to protect both his reputation and his family from the storm of controversy surrounding him.
