GloRilla recently shared a direct message she received from Rihanna. In the DM, the “Diamonds” singer inquired about the release date of the rapper’s upcoming album.

In a now-deleted Instagram post, the “Yeah Glo!” singer revealed a screenshot of the DM. The message from Rihanna read, 

“You got all summer sis! I know dis hypocritical, but when the album drop?”

Many fans took to the internet to voice their agreement, noting the irony in the “S&M” singer asking 

about an album release from another artist given the high anticipation for new music from Rihanna herself.

The artist recently discussed her own music in an interview, mentioning the possibility of featuring her and ASAP Rocky’s sons in their songs and their efforts to decide 

who will use which elements in their respective works. In another update, she shared details about R9.

This recent interaction isn’t the first between the two stars. Rihanna recently went viral for posting a video of herself dancing to GloRilla’s “TGIF” with ASAP Rocky. She captioned the clip, “happy friday.”

“TGIF,” GloRilla’s latest single, was released on June 21. The song quickly went viral, especially among women in relationships who humorously sing its lyrics about being single in front of their partners.

Rihanna also participated in the trend. In the video, she unapologetically sang the lyrics to ASAP Rocky while dancing. The singer’s post about GloRilla marks an uncommon departure from her usual focus on her hair, skin, and makeup brand, Fenty Beauty. 

As for an album from the artist, she released a mixtape earlier this year titled, Ehhthang Ehhthang, which features her trending songs “Yeah Glo!” and “Wanna Be.” 

The rapper recently performed both songs at the 2024 BET Awards. Check out her performance below.
