Gregg Wallace has returned to social media following months of silence, sharing a cryptic post about “regret” and “change” as he faces ongoing allegations of inappropriate behavior.

The former MasterChef presenter, who stepped down from the show last year amid a misconduct investigation, posted an image of train platforms labeled “Change” and “Regret,”
accompanied by the message: “Change isn’t easy, but what will happen if we don’t?”
The timing of Wallace’s post has drawn attention,

as he remains under investigation following accusations from multiple women, including a former Celebrity MasterChef contestant.

The claims against him include making sexually suggestive remarks and inappropriate physical contact, all of which Wallace, 60, has denied.

Wallace’s Return to Social Media
Wallace’s Instagram activity marks his first post since November 27—just a day before the misconduct allegations surfaced. While his return has been met with enthusiasm from some followers, it has also reignited scrutiny over the claims made against him.
Since reappearing online, Wallace has been sharing cooking tutorials, including recipes for protein pancakes, lentil curry, and healthy pizza. His followers expressed their excitement, leaving comments such as:
“Nice to see you back, Gregg. We’ve missed your 7 a.m. stories!”
“Back where you belong.”
“Good to see you posting again, hope you’re doing well.”
Allegations and Investigation
Wallace, who co-hosted MasterChef since 2005, resigned from the show after several women came forward with accusations of inappropriate behavior. BBC executives launched an internal investigation after 13 individuals, including Newsnight presenter Kirsty Wark, accused him of making sexualized comments and engaging in unwanted physical contact.

Among the allegations, Wallace was reportedly seen removing his shirt in front of a female colleague, joking that he was giving her a “fashion show.” Other accusations involve him making unsolicited remarks about his sex life and behaving in a way that some described as “distressing.”
One of the complainants, identified only as Lisa, claimed that Wallace inappropriately touched her while filming the BBC’s Eat Well for Less in 2015. She alleged that he brushed past her at a supermarket checkout, touching her inappropriately while making a suggestive remark. Lisa said she raised the issue with a senior colleague, but no action was taken.
Another woman, referred to as Sarah, claimed Wallace made her uncomfortable at an event in 2022. She alleged that he put his arm around her and encouraged her to hold his hand while they walked to a car park.
Other allegations include Wallace persistently asking a gay female colleague about the “logistics” of her relationships with women and making inappropriate comments about contestants’ appearances.

Wallace’s legal representatives have firmly denied the claims, stating: “It is entirely false that he engages in behavior of a sexually harassing nature.”
Controversial Response to Accusations
When the allegations first surfaced, Wallace took to social media to dismiss them, suggesting they were primarily coming from “middle-class women of a certain age.” His remarks were widely criticized, with figures such as TV presenter Ulrika Jonsson and Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer condemning his response.
Following backlash, Wallace later issued an apology, acknowledging that he had been under “a huge amount of stress” and was not in a good mental state when he made the comments.

Moving Forward?
Despite the serious allegations against him, Wallace appears to be attempting to shift focus back to his professional brand. His recent Instagram posts have been centered on healthy eating and lifestyle tips, steering clear of any direct acknowledgment of the controversy.
However, as the BBC investigation continues, it remains to be seen whether Wallace can fully recover his public image. While some fans continue to support him, others believe the allegations warrant deeper scrutiny.
