The highly anticipated second season of “1923,” starring Helen Mirren and Harrison Ford, is set to film in Austin this summer, using ATX Studios as its base.
Filming will run from July through September following the city council’s approval of an $82,500 Creative Content Incentive Program agreement with King Street Productions Inc.
The production is projected to infuse over $51 million into Austin’s economy, creating around 200 direct jobs and 150 indirect jobs.
Approximately 100 Austinites will be hired for crew positions, and another 100 locals will be cast as extras.
At the premiere of “1923” in December 2022, both Ford and Mirren expressed their excitement about returning for the new season.
Mirren highlighted the deep partnership between their characters, Cara and Jacob, likening it to a 50-year marriage.
She also emphasized the trust she and Ford placed in Taylor Sheridan’s writing when they joined the project without having read the scripts.

The city council’s support underscores confidence in the show’s potential and commitment to prioritizing local talent and resources. As filming commences, Austin residents can anticipate a captivating season and substantial community benefits.
