Harry and Meghan can only afford to send their child to a third-tier school due to depleted savings in the coming years

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have reportedly already started their hunt for the ideal school to send their children to.

Only the best will do for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex who are said to be going all out to ensure only the best for their tots.

Perhaps not surprisingly, they are enquiring about schools around the area of California where they live.

This suggests they might not be considering returning to the UK after all. Here, we look at the £40k a year Montecito school where Harry and Meghan could send Archie and Lilibet.

Richard Mineards from the Montecito Journal claimed that the couple have been considering local school options – as Archie will be reaching his milestone 5th birthday next week.

He said: “Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are eyeing entering their two children, Archie and Lilibet, at a local private school, I can exclusively reveal.

“The Riven Rock twosome were spotted inspecting an institution’s campus last week, bringing them one-step closer to a decision.”

The journalist added: “School fees in our area range from $60,000 to $50,000 plus for older grades, with most of the institutions having 100 per cent of students going on to attend four-year colleges.”

Prince Harry is no stranger to attending the finest establishments. He went to Ludgrove for prep school, then followed his older brother Prince William to Eton College.

Meghan went to Immaculate Heart High School, an all girls Catholic school in California where she was born and raised. Meanwhile just days ago Meghan gave a rare update about her children as she revealed her daughter’s favourite class is singing and dancing and her son likes construction.

The Duchess of Sussex spoke about Princess Lilibet and Prince Archie, aged two and four, after joining schoolchildren by taking part in a song and dance session on day one of her and Prince Harry’s tour of Nigeria. The couple joined in with a riotous version of “jump up, turn around” alongside kids from Abuja’s Lightway Academy before Meghan told them: “We’re so honoured to be with you. We have got to acknowledge those amazing dance moves! My husband was excited to jump up!”

After Harry, 39, asked pupils: “Is singing and dancing your favourite class?”, former Suits star Meghan said: “That’s Lili’s favourite class…maybe it’s all the jumping around!” The couple’s school visit was linked to the Archwell Foundation.

When one performer carried out a spectacular backflip in front of them, Meghan clapped and told them: “Bravo!” One girl, aged two, stepped forward and tentatively shook hands with Meghan, but decided it was too much to shake Harry’s hand.

Meghan supportively told her: “We all get shy sometimes.” Again speaking about Lilibet, Meghan later told the kids in attendance: “So our daughter, Lili, she’s much, much tinier than you guys.

“She’s about to turn three. And a few weeks ago she looked at me and she would just see the reflection in my eyes. And she was like, ‘Mama, I see me in you.’ Oh, now she was talking really, literally.”
