Here’s how Lara Trump plans to cover the White House’s ‘movers and shakers’ on Fox

Lara Trump is stepping into a groundbreaking role as she prepares to launch My View with Lara Trump on Fox News.

Premiering on Saturday, the show marks the first time a relative of a sitting president has hosted a major television program, setting a new precedent in political broadcasting.

A Unique Position in Television News

While not entirely without precedent—Jenna Bush Hager joined The Today Show shortly after her father,

former President George W. Bush, left office—Lara’s position is different. She will be covering political news while her father-in-law,

Donald Trump, serves as President, raising questions about potential conflicts of interest.

However, Lara sees this as an advantage. “There are very few people who have the ability to reach out to so many of these folks and have them sit down for a more personal interview, and I’m really excited to do it,” she said in a recent interview.

Covering the ‘Movers and Shakers’ of the White House

Lara plans to give viewers an inside look at key figures shaping the Trump administration. She aims to follow influential officials such as Robert F. Kennedy Jr. managing the health department and Elon Musk overseeing the Department of Government Efficiency.

Her premiere episode will feature interviews with prominent women in the administration, including Attorney General Pam Bondi, Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, and White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt. She also hopes to sit down with Linda McMahon, the nominee for Secretary of Education, to discuss solutions for improving the nation’s education system.

Addressing Criticism and Highlighting Women in Leadership

Acknowledging the criticism that her show could present a conflict of interest, Lara countered by emphasizing that she wants to highlight the administration’s female leadership. “You’ve heard a lot about Donald Trump in a very negative sense when it comes to women,” she said. “The truth is that Donald Trump surrounds himself with the best and the brightest, many of whom are women.”

Fox News has announced that My View with Lara Trump will air weekly on Saturdays at 9 p.m. As a result, Brian Kilmeade’s One Nation with Brian Kilmeade will move to Sundays at 10 p.m.

A Career Rooted in Media and Politics

Lara Trump has built a career at the intersection of media and politics. Before her time at Fox, she worked as a producer for Inside Edition for four years. She later joined Fox as an on-air contributor in 2021 but stepped down in 2022 due to the network’s policy against employing individuals directly tied to a presidential campaign.

More recently, she served as co-chair of the Republican National Committee (RNC), a role she took on during Donald Trump’s presidential campaign before stepping down in December. It was around this time that serious discussions about her new role at Fox began.

Future Political Ambitions?

Lara has hinted at a possible future in politics. She previously considered running for the Senate seat left vacant by Marco Rubio, who now serves as Secretary of State. While she ultimately decided against it, she has not ruled out a future run, saying, “I would never say never.”

For now, however, Lara remains focused on her new show. As a mother of two young children, she expressed that the demands of a political career would not be ideal at this time.

Balancing Family and Career

Lara and her husband, Eric Trump, currently live in Jupiter, Florida, and her show will be filmed in both New York and Florida studios. Unlike some of her in-laws, Lara has chosen not to take an official position in the White House, citing the strain it placed on her sister-in-law Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner during Trump’s first term.

Despite criticism from media analysts, Lara is excited for the opportunity and believes her unique position will bring fresh insight into the Trump administration. My View with Lara Trump promises to provide a mix of political analysis and personal interviews with key figures, offering audiences an intimate look into the people shaping U.S. policy.
