Hoda Kotb says not much has changed since she retired from the ‘Today’ show

Hoda Kotb’s retirement from *Today* has ushered in a new chapter for the beloved anchor, one that is focused on spending more time with her family.

In her heartfelt farewell letter to her colleagues last September,

Kotb shared the deeply personal decision to step away from her broadcasting career in order to prioritize her two daughters, Haley and Hope, as well as her mother, Sameha Kotb.

Her decision came after years of balancing her high-profile career with motherhood, and she expressed her excitement about the future.

“My broadcast career has been beyond meaningful, a new decade of my life lies ahead, and now my daughters and my mom need and deserve a bigger slice of my time pie,” Kotb wrote at the time.

“I will miss you all desperately, but I’m ready and excited.”

Kotb’s transition into this new phase of life has been marked by small yet profound moments, which she has shared with her followers on social media. In recent posts, Kotb offered a rare glimpse into her new morning routine—one that includes the simple joys of motherhood, like walking her daughters to school.

On January 14, Kotb shared a lively post on Instagram with the caption, “School drop!!! Let’s goooo.” The post featured her walking her daughters to school, a heartwarming scene that highlights her commitment to being present for her family. This new, everyday routine contrasts sharply with the fast-paced life she once led as a *Today* show host, but Kotb’s followers are clearly enjoying her new role as a hands-on mom.

A few days later, Kotb posted again, this time with a more reflective caption: “Another regular.. ordinary…spectacular day xo.” The simple words capture the essence of her newfound routine—ordinary, yes, but spectacular in its own right. Kotb’s ability to find joy in the everyday moments is one of the many reasons why she has remained so beloved by her fans.

However, even in retirement, Kotb’s connection to her *Today* family remains strong. On January 17, she shared a video from her car, offering insight into her thoughts as she navigates her mornings. “So someone said today, a very wise spin coach said today, three things matter in the morning, very important: ‘what you watch, what you listen to, and who you talk to,’” Kotb shared in the video. “’Cause that sort of sets your morning.”

In the next moment, the video cuts to Kotb at home, with her television tuned to *Today*, further showing that, even though she’s no longer on-air, Kotb’s ties to the show remain strong. The video received an outpouring of support from her fans, many of whom expressed their gratitude for her continued presence in their lives, even if it’s no longer through her traditional hosting role.

Savannah Guthrie, Kotb’s former co-host on *Today*, left a sweet comment under the post, saying, “We love you so much.” Her message was just one of many from fans who have expressed their appreciation for Kotb’s authenticity and warmth.

Kotb’s fans have also asked for more content from her, with one follower writing, “Did not expect Hoda’s retirement to be my favorite show,” while another eagerly requested, “Will you make videos every morning so we can still watch you?” It’s clear that her followers are enjoying her candid glimpses into her life after *Today*, and they’re eager to see more.

Though Kotb may no longer be on television every morning, her presence continues to resonate with those who have watched her over the years. Retirement for Kotb, it seems, is not the end but rather a new beginning—one that’s focused on family, personal growth, and embracing the little things that make life special. As she continues to share her journey on social media, her fans will be right alongside her, cheering her on in this exciting new chapter.
