Hoda Kotb shares what her days and life with her daughters will look like post-TODAY

As Hoda Kotb bids farewell to Today, she is already looking ahead to her next chapter with a structured plan for her daily life.

The longtime co-anchor, who officially left the morning show on January 10, has crafted a well-thought-out schedule to ensure a smooth transition into this new phase.

Rather than facing a sudden change without direction, Kotb has outlined a routine that balances personal wellness, family time, and professional growth.

In an interview with TODAY.com, she shared details about how she intends to make the most of her days post-Today.

Hoda Kotb’s Morning Routine: A Fresh Start

For over a decade, Kotb’s mornings began before dawn, as she prepared to go live on Today.

Now, she’s allowing herself the luxury of “sleeping in”—which, for her, means waking up two hours later than her usual 3 a.m. alarm.

She plans to kickstart her day with an early workout, just before 6 a.m. After exercising, she will enjoy a quiet morning at home, making coffee while her daughters, Haley (7) and Hope (5), get ready for school.

One of the most meaningful changes in her new routine will be the opportunity to walk her daughters to school. This simple act, something many parents take for granted, is a milestone for Kotb, who previously had to rush off to work before her children were even awake.

Building a New Career Path

After dropping off her daughters, Kotb plans to shift her focus to a new professional endeavor. She revealed that she is working on a wellness company, though she has not yet shared specific details.

From 9 to 11 a.m. each day, she has designated time to focus on this new project. This structured work period will allow her to dive into creative planning and strategy, while still maintaining a flexible schedule.

Beyond that, Kotb intends to dedicate time to personal growth and inspiration. Between 11 a.m. and noon, she hopes to take walks outdoors, allowing herself to clear her mind and embrace creativity. She explained that constantly rushing from one task to another stifles innovation, so she is excited to embrace a more open schedule that fosters new ideas.

Prioritizing Personal Growth and Reflection

One of the biggest changes in Kotb’s post-Today life will be the ability to slow down and focus on self-care. She wants to dedicate more time to journaling, meditation, and prayer—something she previously squeezed into her schedule only occasionally.

“I had, like, ‘Thankful Thursdays,’ where I would squeeze in something good for me on Thursdays, but that really isn’t enough,” she admitted. Now, she intends to integrate moments of mindfulness and gratitude into her daily routine, ensuring that she remains grounded and centered.

Even something as simple as a 30-minute walk—without music, podcasts, or distractions—is something Kotb is looking forward to. She believes that creating space for quiet reflection will help her maintain a sense of peace and purpose.

Connecting with Inspiring People

Another important aspect of Kotb’s new schedule is making time for meaningful conversations. She hopes to schedule lunches with people who inspire her, allowing her to exchange ideas and gain fresh perspectives.

Her goal is to surround herself with positive influences who will encourage and challenge her in this new chapter. This aligns with her overall approach to embracing change—focusing on what she can control while remaining open to new experiences.

Embracing Family Time and a ‘Normal’ Evening Routine

One of the most significant changes in Kotb’s life post-Today is the ability to fully embrace family time. After a bit more work in the afternoon, she looks forward to picking up her daughters from school—a daily ritual she was rarely able to experience before.

Evenings at home will be different too. Instead of rushing through dinner and bedtime routines, Kotb envisions a more relaxed pace, with simple joys like grilling burgers in the backyard and enjoying quality time with her children.

Letting Her Daughters Explore Their Own Paths

During her final days at Today, Kotb sat down with her friend and author Mel Robbins, who spoke about the concept of “letting them.” Robbins’ philosophy, which she turned into a book, centers on the idea of releasing control over things that are not within our power.

Kotb resonated with this message, particularly when it comes to parenting. She is excited to give her daughters more opportunities to explore and experience life on their own terms.

The mindset of “letting them” aligns perfectly with Kotb’s new approach to life—embracing change, focusing on what she can control, and creating a more fulfilling and balanced future.

A New Chapter Begins

As Kotb moves forward from Today, she is not stepping away from work entirely—she is simply shifting gears. With her wellness company in the works, a renewed focus on personal growth, and more quality time with her daughters, she is crafting a life that aligns with her values and aspirations.

Fans who have followed her journey for years will undoubtedly be eager to see what she does next. While her Today chapter has closed, Hoda Kotb’s story is far from over—it’s just beginning.
