Hoda Kotb Talks Third Baby After Leaving Today Show
Hoda Kotb’s daily routine has undergone a major transformation since she bid farewell to the Today show on January 10, 2025.
After 17 years as a co-host, the beloved television personality decided it was time for a new chapter—one that prioritizes family and personal fulfillment.
The 60-year-old first announced her departure in September 2024, explaining that a key reason for stepping away was to dedicate more time to her two daughters,
Haley, 8, and Hope, 5. However, fans have long known about Kotb’s dream of expanding her family,
and now that she has more flexibility in her schedule, she’s not ruling out the idea of adopting a third child.
Hoda’s Thoughts on Adoption
Kotb has never hidden her desire to adopt again, but her plans were put on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic in 2022. Now that she has stepped away from her demanding morning show duties, she appears more open to revisiting the possibility of growing her family.
During a recent interview with E! News, she was asked about adopting another child. While she didn’t give a definitive answer, she made it clear that the idea isn’t off the table.
“You know what I say about life and things like that? I think it’s sort of in God’s hands,” Kotb said, leaving the door open for what the future might hold.
Embracing Motherhood’s Simple Joys
One of Kotb’s biggest motivations for leaving Today was the opportunity to be more present for her daughters. During the interview, she shared that she is looking forward to embracing the everyday moments that come with being a mom.
“What’s on my bucket list is making the eggs, having a coffee, holding their hands, walking Haley and Hope to school—those kinds of very basic things,” she revealed.
For Kotb, it’s not about extravagant vacations or grand gestures but rather cherishing the simple, meaningful experiences with her children. She emphasized that her daughters are her number one priority.
“I want them to know that they are the most important part of my life,” she said. “They ride front seat. Nothing else gets this seat. Career doesn’t get this seat; time doesn’t get this seat.”
A New Career Path in Wellness
While Kotb has stepped away from her daily television role, she isn’t retiring. Instead, she is pivoting toward a new passion—wellness.
Speaking on The Kelly Clarkson Show, Kotb revealed her plans to launch a wellness company, complete with an app, retreats, and a podcast.
“I am starting a wellness app and company that will involve retreats and all kinds of things that we can get together and do,” she told Clarkson.
Unlike a casual girls’ trip, Kotb envisions her wellness retreats as transformative experiences for participants. “When you leave, you’ll go like, ‘Oh my gosh. I feel transformed. I feel different.'”
Her Journey into Wellness
Kotb admitted that she wasn’t always drawn to the wellness world, but over time, she became more interested in practices that helped her feel balanced and at peace.
“I kind of got hooked in the wellness space a couple of years ago,” she shared. “I started doing stuff that I thought seemed woo woo and weird, and then all of a sudden, as I was doing it, I was like, ‘Wait, I feel calmer, I feel better.'”
Looking Ahead
Kotb first hinted at her desire to work in the wellness industry during an October 2024 conversation with her Today co-host, Jenna Bush Hager. At the time, she expressed a deep interest in creating something meaningful in that space.
“I want to live in wellness. I want to work in that space,” she said. “I’ve got things that are percolating inside that I’m gonna, hopefully, have fully formed soon.”
With her new journey into wellness, her deep commitment to motherhood, and the possibility of expanding her family, Kotb’s post-Today life is shaping up to be just as fulfilling—if not more so—than her time on television. Fans will no doubt be watching closely to see where this next chapter takes her.
